I am Nancy Holden. I've lived in the St. Cloud area for the past 28 years. Throughout my life, I have had a number of meaningful work and personal experiences which have helped shape and form my thinking, values, and approach to life. I have been a teacher, speaker, community educator, psychologist, wife, mother, and volunteer and appreciate all I have learned from each of those roles.
I bring 23+ years of experience to my work with the couples, individuals, teens, and parents that come into my office. I have had the privilege ad opportunity to walk along side of them as they find ways to cope with depression, anxiety, loss, trauma, conflict, parenting difficulties, weight loss, stress, and other issues. I provide a listening ear, teach skills, and assist in desensitizing memories, and help them with other issues impairing their lives.
I like to fit my approach to the problems presented. I don't believe one therapeutic style fits all. I use EMDR, cognitive therapy, communication and conflict management strategies. And, I like to teach ways to reduce anxiety, change thinking, problem solve, and plan action steps for change and growth.
I have some special interests in counseling couples, leading seminars on marriage enrichment, helping people maintain weight loss, caregiver, grief and loss, and parenting teens.
If clients are interested, I will introduce and incorporate Christian principles and Christian worldview to assist them in dealing with their problems.
