This is THE sandwich shop in town. The food is great and a great value. No wonder why the college students skip caf meals to come here. Friendly staff, clean, a great place to gather a larger group, order to go, or come solo and read the paper. Soups are really good, too. Save room for the ice cream- it's creamy and so good -hands down the best in town. more

Good company, great atmosphere, local artwork, and great food is what Hogan Bros has to offer. Located in downtown Northfield, it is the perfect place to stop during a day of shopping the neighboring unique shops. Hogan Bros offers fresh-baked, homemade bread with every topping you can imagine available hot or cold in three sizes, 1/3, 1/2 and the whole sandwich. This is definitely not your average sandwich shop. They even serve ice cream! Hogan Bros also hosts local bands, both from the community and groups from St Olaf College and Carleton College. Artwork from students and local community is also in demand and displayed. Hogan Bros is a local favorite with college students. And its only drawback is that at times the atmosphere can be loud and crowded. The beer selection also leaves something to be desired. more

As far as small town sandwich shops go, Hogan Brothers is incredible. In fact, I might say, as far as sandwich shops in general go, it’s top notch. While I prefer the ‘hogie’ (a heated sandwich made to your liking) the other items on the menu are also delicious. Not to mention the prices are extremely reasonable. And for those ice cream lovers out there, you’ll get the most for your money here and the selection at Hogan Brothers is generally very good. more
