Saturday, April 7th we went to Hoffman and were greeted by Susan D'Aprice, a relatively new salesperson at the dealership. Susan was very personable and totally unpretentious, totally different from our experience at Gengras Volvo.\r
\r
We threw all kinds of questions at Susan and when she didn't have the answer, she turned to TJ, a more experienced sales associate who jumped right in and assisted.\r
\r
After a long discussion, we narrowed down out choice to the 2012 Honda EXL. Susan got keys and showed us abuot 6 different vehicles before we finally went out for a test drive. Both Bob and I got to drive putting 12 miles on the car before returning to the dealership to broker the deal.\r
\r
We were clear with Susan what we wanted and what we would be bringing in for a trade in. After tough bargaining with the manager, Steve, we finally left with a deal that was mutually beneficial. \r
\r
We left the dealership with list in information and documentation that we needed to provide during the day on Monday in order to drive away Monday night with the car we chose.\r
\r
Totally unexpectedly, the Volvo decided to crap out on us on the way to the closing at the dealership. Even worse, we ended up arriving by flatbed. \r
\r
When we arrived, there was a brief discussion with Steve, the man who offered us a set dollar value for the Volvo sight unseen and knowing of the previously disclosed engine issues. After the discussion with Steve, we began the final paperwork. \r
\r
Susan had told us there would be a wait as there were already 3 cars scheduled to close ahead of us. Brilliantly, she noticed that there was no one in with the finance manager, Drew, and she arranged for us to do that component of the closing first, instead of last.\r
\r
While we were in with Drew, Susan had the shop prep the car and she took it out and filled the gas tank. When we finished the financing, again, we met with Susan who had the car waiting by the door for us. She helped us with the final inspection of the vehicle before opening the door for each of us and wishing us the very best of luck.\r
\r
In all of our experiences buying vehicles over many decades, this was THE MOST POSITIVE EXPERIENCE EVER!\r
\r
BTW ... total time from when we walked through the door to the time we drove away, 55 minutes.\r
\r
