Great for the kids! 4/11/2006

Hodgson's Pharmacy is a great place to take the kids for a cheap scoop of ice cream on a hot and sticky summer day. They are also very helpful when it comes to your basic pharmaceutical needs and advice. The staff is very friendly and the store is clean and well-managed. more

We all scream for 50c ice cream!!! 1/14/2006

Hodgson's Pharmacy is an old-fashioned, small-town, family-owned pharmacy just outside of the University of Georgia campus. Hodgson's has fantastic customer service, great prices, but is best known for its soda fountain featuring 50c ice cream cones, with each additional scoop just 50c. These are HUGE cones, and filled with yummy Edy's ice cream! I couldn't even finish my double scoop! more

Gotta love the ice cream 12/3/2005

Hodgson's is the type of wonderful little family owned pharmacy that is becoming harder and harder to come by. They are full of helpful advice on all of your pharmaceutical needs, carry items that you can't find at chain pharmacies, and then there is the ice cream. You have to love being able to get a scoop of ice cream on a hot summer day for only 50 cents. Their shakes are out of this world as well. They are pricey on over the counter medications and basics. more

Pharmacy with .50 ice cream cones 10/13/2005

I love taking my boys here after spending some time at Memorial Park. It's just down the road from the park and you can buy a hand dipped ice cream cone for .50 (no tax even!!). They usually carry about 15-20 different flavors and the portions are very generous. If you go on a hot summer day, be prepared to fight for parking. I also would not suggest that you do any other shopping, they are highly overpriced. I like to have the kids presciptions sent there after a doctors visit, then treat them to ice cream. more

Ice Cream & More 8/6/2005

I have lived in Athens for a couple of years and always heard about the ice cream at Hodgson's. Finally, when I needed some pharmaceutical advice I stopped by the store. Not only did I get friendly service, but I went to the old style ice cream parlor on the side for a scoop. They have all different types of Edy’s ice cream and very low prices. For only $1 I got 2 scoops on a nice sugar cone – it really made my day. more
