Taking guitar lessons, practicing and playing music certainly requires perseverance and dedication. At HitMaker Music School, whether a student wants to learn acoustic guitar or electric guitar, we start the same way, focusing on fundamental skills like scales and chords, hand position, strumming patterns, reading music on the staff, and guitar tablature. We mix the classics with the contemporary to keep students interested and always moving forward. The guitar is very popular. It happens to be the most played instrument behind piano. Did you know that the acoustic guitar has been around for thousands of years in many different cultures, while the electric guitar only came on the scene in the 1930s? Most are made of wood and strung with six nylon or steel strings. Regardless, they both can make you look cool! We know our students want to show off their skills, so our guitar lesson program prepares them for performing in both solo and group settings. Our Rock Band meets on Saturdays and brings together multiple instruments to play lots of different types of music. We are the only school in the area to offer ongoing recital opportunities throughout the year on our laid-back outdoor stage. For more information about guitar lessons, please contact us. (512) 549-2454 We hope that you choose piano lessons at HitMaker Music School. We love teaching students of all ages. Private piano lessons tend to work well with students ages 5 – 95 years old. Yes, we do have plenty of adult students taking lessons in piano, bass guitar, guitar, drums voice and banjo too. The piano is arguably the best “first” instrument. The 88 keys cover the whole orchestral range and are laid out in a way that helps music make sense. Plus, it's relatively easy to play a simple song with only a few lessons. Little ones, especially, respond to the instant gratification of being able to plunk out “Twinkle, Twinkle,” but piano lessons are a fun and positive challenge for everyone. Do you know if the piano is a percussion instrument or is it in the string family? The piano does have strings on the inside which are hit with padded hammers. But since the keys are also struck with the fingers, the piano falls into the percussion category. Interesting. It's also a relative newcomer. The piano (short for pianoforte because it can play both soft and loud) only dates back about 300 years. No matter the age, musician can use piano to play everything from classical to contemporary, jazz to bluegrass. Our students will develop an appreciation for the masters like Bach and Mozart, but that doesn't keep us from rocking out to Coldplay and Queen at the recitals. In piano lessons, our instructors work on solos, while also covering fundamental scales, chords, reading music, and learning rhythm. We will recommend a method book taking into consideration the level and maturity of your student. Teachers and students play songs together, clap rhythms, and play musical games to keep lessons interesting. Our music school serves students from Leander, Cedar Park, Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Round Rock, and NW Austin. We are passionate about the power of music to make a difference in everyone's lives and hope to share that gift with all of our students. Please contact us to learn more about piano lessons.
