Our family had a great time at the History Center. The kids were thrilled to ride on TimeQuest which takes you back to Cedar Rapids in 1900. They also enjoyed the old-fashioned toys and learning about prairie life. I would recommend this museum to families young and old. more

This is very small museum. It mainly focuses on the history of Cedar Rapids. It does have a nice travel through time exhibit where you see what Cedar Rapids used to look like. They also have some old-fashioned games that kids played in older times. This museum is a good place to take younger children--K-4. They do offer school group tours. more

I was not really impressed with this museum for the price I had to pay to walk through it. At the time I was there they were featuring photography by local fourth and fifth grade students. Nice photography, but I did not think it was worth paying that much to see. more

I was not impressed with this museum. I thought for the price I paid to enter it wasn't really worth it. If you are going to do some research about someone or the city, the archives would be very helpful. If you can get in on a guided tour you may be able to get more out of it. more

This is a museum for history about Cedar Rapids. It is neat to visit at least once. The neat thing is the interactive tour. You sit in a wagon and drive looking at a large 3-panel screen. You drive through Cedar Rapids of yesterday. There is an informative movie about buildings downtown. They talk about how buildings were tore down to make way for new ones. How we need to preserve the past of these buildings. The one thing they don’t address is what building did they tear down to create this History Center? Be sure to check their website to find out what the current exhibits are. $4 for adults/$3.25 seniors/$2 children. The price is reasonable.
