I have been stopping at Hinze's in Sealy on my way from Houston to Austin for years, and I am never disappointed with the sliced beef sandwich. I am not sure what the previous reviewer's expectation is for brisket, but I consider myself to be somewhat of a connoisseur of Texas barbq. Their food has always been very good. The service is quick and I have never been treated badly as others have said and we have been going there for years. Their cobblers are to die for. Try the Blackberry Cobbler! They have a great variety of side dishes also. We believe the prices to be fair for the quality of meat. It's not a fast food restaurant.... It's right off Interstate -10 and a convenient place to stop when out in that area. Pros: Great BBQ, sides & cobblers! Cons: Can't think of any. more

The people giving this place bad reviews are nuts. The BBQ at Hinze's in Sealy is excellent. I know what I'm talking about because my family has been eating at Hinze's for over 20 years. We live in Katy and will often make the drive to Sealy just to eat the BBQ. BBQ is my favorite type of food. I ate at Goode Co. BBQ on I-10 last night and told my wife it was not as good as Hinze's. The atmosphere is hole-in-the-wall BBQ style and you might have to clean your own table before you eat but it is worth it. Trust me. Pros: Ribs, Chicken, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad Cons: Fried food can be a wait, Might have to bus your table more

We had lunch at Hinze's BBQ in Sealy on 08/09/2009. I ordered a BBQ plate and my friend and his 2 young sons wanted ribs. We gave them our order and the young lady said $56.72 - I said ""WHAT""! When we got our food I had 3 very small slices of brisket and a few pieces of sausage. The portions were extremely small and the price was outrageous! The ribs were OK but the green beans were poor and the mustard greens were bad. The place had no customers and the Whataburger parking lot next door was packed. It is very obvious there is very little repeat business. I will never return that is for sure. Sometimes poor business practices will ruin a good location. This is the case and I felt compelled enough to give Hinze's BBQ in Sealy a BIG THUMBS DOWN! If a rating was not required they would not even get one star! That is for sure! This restaurant has ""fair"" barbque but their service is HORRIBLE! I cannot figure out how they stay in business the way they treat their customers. I live in Sealy and it would be nice to have a good barbque restaurant, but if you want to be respectfully treated and not wait an eternity for your food - inside or at the drive-through, DON'T GO HERE. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! We ate here years ago and it was great. Took a trip to San Antonio and could not wait to eat here today 05-24-2008. What shock! Disposable everything plates cups utensils. Better food at a TRUCK STOP! Pre-Formed,Pre Shaped what they called Chicken Fried steak. Thin pre cooked some kind of meat that they just dropped in the oil for a couple of minutes. Instant mashed potatos, canned beans. NO TASTE NO FLAVOR. $23.00 for BBQ spud that the meat was dry,chicken fried steak and 2 teas. The tea was good!. Dont waste you time or money. Better food at Dairy Queen or any truck stop around! On the window it said Award Winning from food and wine but IF this is true its from many many years ago. I still cant believe what a disappointment this was. I cant recall the last time I was served on paper plates with plastic utensils INSIDE a restaurant. Its obvious eating there they are in trouble!
