Awful, awful people. You cant `view' a dog or cat without 3 pages of info, many intrusive questions, and waiting till theyre good and ready. Then you need a counsellor to find o...

Wonderful 5/18/2012

We just adopted our dog in April and the adoption process was so easy. We were allowed to get to know her and play with her before we adopted her and Alan spent a lot of time with us answering our questions. Our dog is a wonderful addition to our lives. Thanks HHS for bringing us together! more

DO NOT SHOP HERE 11/27/2011

Awful, awful people. You cant `view' a dog or cat without 3 pages of info, many intrusive questions, and waiting till theyre good and ready. Then you need a counsellor to find out if you are a good match for the dog...this is before you even see it to know if you want it. Many many people get turned away because...they have children, they let their cat outside, they dont have vet records for their last pet(!) etc etc etc. just thinking about this shelter makes me mad. Dont go there. more

Lovely humane society 10/27/2008

We adopted a tabby from the shelter 3 years ago and now we can not even remember how our lives were without him. He is an amazing cat. Incredibly intelligent, very sensitive and affectionate. We adopted another cat from them last year but after a year of trying to socialize our two cats, we were forced to give her back. They immediately took her in and made room for her even though all their cages were full. To our surprise and relief, she was adopted out less than a week later. more

Hinsdale Humane Society 2/27/2006

This is a wonderful humane society. We have dealt with them for many years. They of course are not a no-kill, but they used to be, and I believe they make every effort to place every animal they have in their care. You can turn in litters of cats or dogs, or bring in a stray with a forty-dollar donation. more
