My parents came to visit me recently and decided to stay at the Hilltop Inn. Let me just say that they are not hotel novices; they stay at hotels on a fairly regular basis and know the difference between a bad night and a good one. This was not a bad night. As soon as they got there, they got upgraded to a suite simply because it was a slow night and the suite was open. There was a jacuzzi, a patio with a grill on it, a huge bed, a fireplace, a substantial kitchen, and satellite tv, all in this extremely spacious room. It was awesome! Then then icing on the cake was breakfast the next morning. I decided to have breakfast with them, which was a great idea, because the chef came around to our table and made us each whatever we wanted. All of our meals were different, and all of our meals were delivered promptly and were delicious. Then, when we were done, my dad offered to pay for me, since I wasn't staying at the hotel and really had no right to a free breakfast. The chef smiled and told us that this one was on the house!
I have never been treated so well at any lodging, especially one I wasn't even staying at. An upgrade AND free breakfast can not be beat.
Pros: Easy to find, polite, sincere, and awesome food
Cons: I have yet to think of one
