Kudos to Dr. Calley and her wonderful staff!!!! 11/16/2011

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Calley and her wonderful staff. My 2 dogs thought that they had gone to a doggie park! They met so many friends and were treated like they were the only ones there because of the attention and love that they got from everybody. We signed in after our long drive and waited our turn to meet Dr. Calley for her to examine my dogs and address some concerns that I had after a previous visit to another vets office. She was AWESOME and the ""girls"" didn't even know when they got their shots, it was that fast! I can't thank Dr. Calley enough for her kindness and warmth and she now has 2 new clients and a friend. Thank you Dr. Calley!! more

Wonderful Doctor, Wonderful Staff 9/3/2011

Dr. Calley is awesome, as well as her staff. They care so much about animals, and it shows. It is very busy in the clinic, but they should be. I was a client of another vet for 10 years before I switched to Dr. Calley. With the economy, it was getting more difficult to pay the high prices at my previous clinic. I was nervous about changing vets because I had been with my previous clinic for so long. Friends and co-workers raved about Lowcountry Pet Wellness, so I thought I would give it a try. I brought in my German Shephard and he was so excited about all the attention he received from EVERYONE in the clinic! He received just as much attention from the staff as my daughter does when she sees her pediatrician (maybe even a little more). And, I was able to meet so many diffierent people. Dr. Calley's clinic promotes nuturing of animals, but the atmosphere also allows people to connect with others as well. While you're waiting you can meet your neighbors! \r \r On another note, if anyone was ever to question Dr. Calley's love for animals, they would be so wrong! I am a teacher at an elementary school. Some of my students found a bird that had been hurt on the playground. We called Calley and she actually came to the school, took the bird, nursed it back to health, and set it free again. How many vets take the time to do that??? I only know one.... And what a wonderful example she set for those kids!! They were so excited to see her in action, and that she listened to them and their concerns. They learned so much from the experience! \r \r I recommend Lowcountry Pet Wellness to everyone I know with pets. You can't beat a staff and doctor with hearts of gold, as well as the lowest prices around. Even if she was more expensive, I would still go to her clinic. \r \r And congratulations to Dr. Calley for Vet of the Year for 2011!!! She truly deserves it!! more

The Clinic and its staff are AMAZING 8/21/2011

I have known Dr. Calley and the Front Desk person who has been mentioned negatively in a previous post and I absolutely have to speak up... I have to say that even though there is a long wait most days, the staff at the clinic are always doing their best and have always been pleasant even when they are over-whelmingly busy. I have never seen any of the staff members behave in any negative way towards their clients or their pets. That said, everyone is entitiled to a bad day - please remember that we often expect everyone to treat us with respect and kindness and we should do the same. It is so easy to forget that we do not always know what a person is going through so I ask that everyone consider that before completely ""flipping out"". Dr. Calley has gone above and beyond more often than not to help her clients and their pets. And the person at the Front Desk happens to be right there giving it her all as well - you will not find 2 people who care more for animals...and both ladies are beautiful both inside and out - they do not deserve any negativity. Please understand that they are human and not above having a bad day, but I do know that each of these 2 ladies has a HUGE HEART OF GOLD and we are all very fortunate to have such caring souls out there who are available to take care of our pets - especially at such affordable costs. I personally have found this clinic and its staff to be AMAZING... more

hard working! 8/21/2011

Ok, so if you are an unhappy person, that might be so, but DO NOT take it out on other people. I have gone to Dr. Calley for years, the most amazing person and great staff ever. I was there last week when we thought that our dog was really bad and her staff took my dog did tests straight away and made sure everything was done before we left. Helpful and caring is the motto for this wellness clinic. I also which front desk person she is talking about and she is the most hard working thoughtful person you will find. Dr Calley is lucky to have her!! more

I try my best but I can't please everyone 8/20/2011

I am Dr. Calley the owner of the clinic that is being unnecessarily bashed...I called ""speaking my mind "" client to try and help her pets and make sure we get them properly vaccinated and protected I even offered all vaccines for free. The one who wrote the offensive review she hung up on me without even speaking. I called back and left a professional nice message stating I didn't want to bother her and want to clarify and explain I caused the mix up about getting vaccine at time of spay.I did learn from this post that I don't realize how booked up I have become and that my newer staff must not have realized they were booster shots that require we work her pets in within four weeks of that day. Anyway I hope this helps and people realize my heart is in the pets, community, and my hard working staff! And I am never too busy to help a client so had I been asked I would have given the cage aggressive female dog her shot once the owner had her out and done it free of charge for all the inconvenience. I'm sorry for the clients hurt feelings but we try our best and can't please everyone. more

best vet clinic 8/19/2011

my apologies, but that last review seemed a bit immature, and had many unnecessary points, such as insulting a person based off of their weight. i have been taking my pets to this clinic for 8 years now, and i wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. the staff is very friendly and kind to the animals. you actually CAN call to make an appointment, because i know of many customers-like myself-who have done so, so please do not be misinformed. Dr. Calley is a wonderful veterinarian and you can tell that she is in it for the animals, not the monetary gain. Her staff is wonderful, and always make my animals feel more comfortable by playing with them and even offering treats. I have never seen any of them rude to anyone, and it is always a pleasant experience. The prices are cheap, and yes, they are always extremely busy, but what do you expect at the only LOW COST veterinary clinic in Charleston? Prepare to wait, but you won't be disappointed as long as you have patience. As i said, i won't take my animals anywhere else. I love Dr. Calley and her staff more

Lowcountry Pet Wellness Clinic 3/28/2011

This clinic provides pet healthcare at affordable prices. It is not pleasant to sit and wait for the vet, but once in the vet is great. Unfortunately, I have seen many people take advantage of this clinic just to get by cheap. It takes a co-operative effort between vet office and client. You cannot make an appointment, its first come, first served, however, in return you have a staff that truly cares about the animals and providing healthcare as inexpensively as possible. If you can find a less expensive vet in the area, please post the address, because all I have found are vet offices which a portion of my bill is for staff payroll and expensive rent. Additionally, I have never seen anyone at Lowcountry Pet Wellness get pressured to buy unnecessary ""products"", most vet offices sell everything from collars to pet food at marked up prices. Perhaps recently some vets have lowered their prices, in an effort to remain in business during this difficult period, but Lowcountry has been consistantly available to those economically strapped, if you can afford a regular vet office, go for it, but for those of us with several pets or who are financially limited, Lowcountry Wellness is a great alternative, if you expect the gold card treatment, go somewhere else. more

Not sure what happened with shortcut10 but this person couldn't be MORE wrong! Dr. Calley is the BEST and is VERY caring and does a lot for the community and for the pets. Obviously I'm not the only one who thinks so or she wouldn't have won this years ""Vet of the Year"" award!! more
