I am saddened by people who use race to describe or blame a bad experience. This is in regards to the lady who feels the folks at Hilltop Loans won't loan to her because she's black. Maybe they simply didn't like the item you wanted to sell or pawn?? I'm black and I have no issues with pawning my items. They are always polite and give me exactly what I'm asking for. And when i purchase items from them they always charge me less than the marked price. Let's keep race out of it. It's whats wrong with society today. :( more

Part of the gentrification 3/25/2012

The owners of Hilltop Loans are the sons of a man who owned a lot of property in the area and left it to his boys. These guys don't like blacks. Why are they there? They should have sold-out a long time ago. Instead they waited patiently for the neighborhood to turn white again, just like in the good really old days. If you are a minority check out other establishments before you sell or pawn your stuff there. Chances are they won't be making you any deals anyway. Best Place to SELL gold 5/5/2011

After cleaning out my jewelry box I shopped around on where to sell my unwanted gold and HILLTOP loans beat everyone on price. The shop was clean and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. They had beautiful jewelry at a great price and I ended up buying a new ring with my unwanted gold profits. more
