I bought several flats of ground cover from Hill Country African Violets. When my husband unloaded them from the car, he noticed there were a large number of ants on the seat. He thought it was odd but soon forgot about it. Then when I began planting, a number of ants began crawling over and biting my hands, legs, and feet. Perplexed, I looked at the root ball of the plant I was holding -- only to see a swarm of ants trying to carry their eggs to safety. There was an actual ant bed in my plants! \r

I quickly checked the plants, and seeing that a large number of them were infested, I threw them away. I called the nursery right away, and begrudgingly the owner agreed to take back the infested plants if I brought them in. When I said I had thrown them away because (a) I didn't want to be bitten any more and (b) I didn't want to get any more ants in my car than were already there, he said too bad. He was not willing to do anything else to resolve the situation. He then had the audacity to suggest that I go ahead and plant them and just get some ant killer to take care of the problem. (At my expense, of course.) The next day, I went to talk to them in person and got the same story.\r

I've been a loyal customer for years, but after receiving such terrible products and such upsetting treatment, I will never go back.\r
