Highway 55 Rental & Sales

AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!By far the worst customer service experience, I have ever been involved in. Rented a piece of equipment after a large storm. On the day we were returning it, the traffic was absolutely terrible ( due to traffic light power outages) we called several times to give them an update as to our progress and that we might just be a couple of minutes late. The answer was, ""we will not stay one minute past closing, no business stays open after closing hours"" In my experience a business that cares about both its customers and their future business would have waited the 5-10 minutes for us to arrive. To make matters worse everytime I spoke to ask a question, I was interrupted with another rude comment. I will absolutely NEVER, use this business again. I would rather drive 50 miles out of my way to avoid this place. The best part is, my business has used them in the past and all of our staff will now be directed to find another rental company for our needs. So not only did they lose a families business they lost a corporate account. They act as if they have a monopoly on the rental business but there are plenty of other companies that understand customer service and want our business. Reddy Rents in minneapolis and St Louis Park, get my vote for the best in the cities. Not as convenient to my business but way worth the drive compared to the ""I don't care attitude of Highway 55 Rentals. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere, you will be glad you did! more

Horrible, HORRIBLE, customer service. My husband rented a piece of equipment for a construction job today, and the gas engine had deteriorated so that it was unusable after 25 minutes of use. He took it back and they only offered a credit toward a future rental. My husband refused and said he would like a refund, since it had interrupted his entire day of work having to drive it 35 minutes each way. They offered absolutely NO apologies for the inconvenience and continued to deny any refund (saying, ""that's not the way we do it""), as my husband got more angry about their lack of service. As my husband was leaving, the owner, Jeff Pederson, followed my husband out of the store, arguing with him the entire way, and then told him to ""get the f*** out of here,"" and said he had been a ""jacka##"" since he had arrived. My husband informed him that he would tell everyone he knows about his experience, to which the owner said, ""I'm not worried about that."" We will never be renting from them again, and will tell absolutely everyone we know to avoid this company and the owner. more

Had to drill (7) 6 inch holes for ductwork in house rim joist this Dec 2010. Rented a 6 inch hole saw, which is designed to cut thru house rim joists, from HWY 55 Rental. Had told them what I was going to do beforehand. The saw was so dull that in 2 1/2 hours I had only cut thru 2 rim joists that were each 11/2 inch thick. Should of been able to cut thru each rim joist in 10 minutes. Returned the hole saw and they only would give me a credit for a future rental. Don't believe that was fair. I went out and brought a new saw to do the job. more

I purchased a trailer from these guys and they were fantastic. I searched on the internet but the last call I made was to Jim. I am from Saskatchewan and he was more than willing to help out with the over the border details. When we arrived to pick up the trailer we felt like we had dealt with these people many times before......very personable and helpful. We are looking to purchase a skidoo trailer and the previous transaction will save me a lot in long distance phone bills. Thanks again you guys, it was an absolute pleasure doing business with you.
