Hight Veterinary Hospital Pa University Area

This is not the place to go when you have to say your last good bye to your beloved pet; best friend and family member! Making a decision like that is hard and even gut wrenching but when my wife and I finally did it we called ahead. We wanted a quick process to lessen the emotional stress for all. Instead I was made to wait for over an hour with my little friend sitting on my lap shaking and licking my face. It was the worst experience of my life and I regret and resent the way the whole situation was handled. I have since learned that there are other places that handle this experience much differently and with sensitivity for owners and pets. I relive that long drawn out nightmare everyday. In hindsight I wish I had scooped up my little buddy and run for the door! more

We've been going to this clinic since it opened, had 5 dogs and a cat go thru their doors. I have nothing but praise and admiration for everyone in the place. We've had routine surgeries (neuter, dental...) and complicated surgeries (CCL), well visits and sick-emergency visits, we've also had some of our pets boarded there. I can't say enough good things about them and would recommend them to my closest friends. more

I brought my dog in at 6 months old from another state and they were very welcoming. Always happy to see him when I visit and they take great care of him. The staff is very patient and take extra time to answer any questions or concerns. I highly recommend Hight Veterinarian. more

I've been taking my Pitbull there for years, and I am ready for a new vet. Initially this place was awesome, but through the years it's been on a downward slope. Their doctors are decent, but the rest of their staff are...let's just say hard to talk to. more

I have 2 large mixed breed dogs (Oliver and Skip) that are my "babies" as well as my companions. I have been taking my dogs to Hight Veterinary Hospital for at least 5 years and have found the care they have received to be extraordinary. The staff and doctors have always been warm and welcoming. They have shown such compassion to Skip and Oliver and to me. I have been very impressed with their knowlege, patience, and personalized care. Perhaps the biggest compliment comes not through words, but through Ollie and Skip's behaviors as they become more and more excited as we get closer to the clinic, jumping over each other and the seats of my car and then sprint to get inside as they are greeted by friendly faces, kind voices, and lots of ear and tummy rubs! more

My two miniature dachshunds and I recently moved to Charlotte a few months ago and were in need of a new vet. I was referred to Height Veterinary Hospital by my sister-in-law, who also brings her miniature dachshund here. Since day one, Oscar, Bali and I have been welcomed every time we have walked through the front door with HUGE smiles by everyone in the office. I really appreciate how they give each person and pet so much one-on-one attention here. They have always taken their time to answer each and every question I have no matter how long I am in the room, which is re-assuring. The last visit I had with Oscar, the vet even sat with us on the floor to explain in detail his diagnosis: Intervertebral Disk Disease. Any diagnosis may be difficult to hear, but the vet and staff at Height Veterinary Clinic made it clear that they will be with us every step of the way. I also greatly appreciate how their office manager, Jody, has helped me on a personal level to advance my career. Height Veterinary Clinic is more than just your average vet…it is obvious they TRULY care about you and your pet’s well-being! more

I have been taking my dog here since we first moved to Charlotte in May of 2011. The woman who watches over the dog kennel is amazing-she always gets my pup excited so that she doesn't mope when I have to leave (the hardest part for me!). The front staff has always been accomodating as well. I was impressed that on several occasions the vet AND the front desk staff actually helped me SAVE money-not usually the case at a doctor's office-vet or otherwise. For example, when I brought my dog in because she had lost a few teeth, instead of jumping to conclusions (like I did), the vet asked very good questions and found out that the root of the problem was simply the bones she was chewing were too tough for her. Instead of running unnecessary tests (I wouldn't have known any better, and when it comes to my pup, I would have gladly paid!), or charging me exorbitant prices for the visit, the vet said that because she was being boarded she would not charge me for a separate vet visit. How nice and refreshing to visit a vet's office that cares more about my pet than anything else! There are vet's offices that are closer to where I live now, but I gladly make the drive to Hight Veterinary Hospital because I have had such positive experiences. more

I have been taking my two small dogs to Hight Vet since moving to the University Area about four years ago. The staff is polite and knowledgeable and the vets always go the extra mile to ensure my doggies get the best care. I'm very pleased with the nail trim service as well. My two lil bundles of joy are always up to date on their shots, and their nails stay nice and trimmed due to the great service given at Hight Vet Clinic. more

We've been taking our cat to Hight Veterinary for about six years. The service is always great and timely. The staff is caring and compassionate and treat our kitty like it was theirs! Since our Macy is like our baby we want a Vet and staff that care about what they do and we find that at Hight. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a good place to take their pets. more

Bryan has a team of great veterinary professionals and staff. They always make us and our animals feel welcome.\r \r While they are not the closest veterinary facility to our home we are more than willing to drive further to know that our animals are receiving the very best care!\r \r If we go out of town we have no concerns leaving our animals there for a few days as Sheree (animal boarding Manager) and the team do a fantastic job.\r \r I strongly recommend Hight's veterinary hospital to anyone who has pets, especially if they are spoilt. more

I have been taking my pit bull here since the day I got him, and I have never seen a dog so happy to go to the vet. The staff is excellent and can get me on the schedule if I needed to bring my dog in that day. Its in a good location. The office is nice and clean. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. I have taken my little Yorkie here for eight years. They have always been really gentle and compassionate with her! I would recommend this location as a good place to take your pet. My little Amy means the world to me and I feel really comfortable taking her there. Thanks Hight! more

We have taken our 2 labs to Dr. Matt Woods at Hight Vet for a couple years. He is so good with both dogs. I feel like he treats them like they are his own dogs. They allow me to bring both dogs (for moral support) even if just one dog has an appointment. We really like that they have a waiting area for dogs and 1 for cats. This is very important because we can relax a bit more if we have to wait which is very rare. They generally don't have us wait and send us straight to the examination room. The receptionists may have been indifferent while on the phone in the past, but they have really improved. My co-worker takes her cats to Dr. Hight and absolutely loves him. We are very pleased to have Hight Vet for our dogs. more

I have been taken my dog to Hight Vet for several years now, they have always treated my dog great. Even when she had surgery. I can't think of a better vet to send your pet to. more

Dr. Wood is the best! He has taken care of my pet since she was 2 months and have given the absolute best care. He takes time with her and answers any questions that I may have. Thanks guys!! more

Dr. Hight is likely the best and most compassionate vet I have ever worked with. We had an animal with two broken front legs that he performed surgery on three times with each surgery lasting 12 hours. He is kind hearted and caring and his staff is absolutely the best from the receptionist to the officer manager to the technicians and assistants in the back. I truly feel blessed that we had the opportunity to get to know him and I would entrust any of my pets with him. more

I had been taking my pets here but when I recently picked my dog up from boarding, he reeked of urine. To think of my dog lying in his own urine makes me very sad. In addition, they did not complete all the tests they were supposed to while he was in the kennel, and they want me to come back. No. Also, when I picked them up they had not been fed or walked that morning, even though it was mid-morning. I was not pleased and will not go back for any service. Pros: ? Cons: See below more

After Dr. White left the practice it has not been the same. Dr. Hight is not nearly as personable and doesn't take the time to talk to the pet owner. We've been very disappointed in his constantly trying to make money. more

We are new to Charlotte, I was very impress with the staff. Dr. Matt Woods was very good with my cat. He was also very patience with me, I had lots of questions and he took the time to answer all of them. The doctor and staff was Great with my little one. My cat has health problems and was very scare and everyone teated him with nothing but kindness.We visited many Veterinary Hospitals before we made the appointment.\r The care and personal treatment was the best I have ever seen. You get what you pay for. I am very glad that we picked this Doctor. This office staff and Physician truly understands there is more to caring for a pet then just medicine. Everytime I call to make appointment, reception leaves on hold for a while. Then, before I can ask a question, they hang up. But once you go in, they're pretty nice to you. As for the the vet and techs, they are great! They take care of my dogs, answer all my questions and never rush me. Overall, one has to consider that reception might be busy and have a million other things to do and cant give you the attention you deserve, so its not a big deal. This place is great and will continue to take my pets there. Pros: Great Vets, Awesome Techs! Cons: Reception phone etiquette needs some work more
