I grew up playing Highland Park and remember the small old club house with green roof and moss on it. New club house is grand but in need of a pro shop with stuff you can buy, not bare. It's an average 36 hole track with character, a bit short and open by my standards. Red course is more challenging than blue but shorter. There certainly aren't an over abundance of flat lies/plains like conditions tee to green. Speaking of the greens, they do all slope and/or undulate, hold a line well and are relatively fast. It can get quite tricky dependent upon pin placement. I've played some hairy greens in my day and Highland Park's would not be amongst them. Lastly, the folks taking your money in the clubhouse and starters should try smiling once in a while.
Pros: nice greens, not flat
Cons: short, Pro Shop area with no merchandise?!?
