Best Spot in Columbus 9/17/2005

There is such a variety here. The trails can get a little rough but overall are great to walk. The only problem I've ever had is our dog gets ticks like crazy out there. We live in the country and the only time she ever comes in with ticks is when we come back from there. So be careful of that. It's definetly for the outdoor lover! Don't forget your bottled water! more

great walking 8/28/2005

trails here are amazing and vary in length for whatever type of walk you are looking for. bring rugged shoes as the trails themselves tend to get rough in some areas. even has a trail just for dogs! large place be prepared to drive around to get yourself assimilated. love to go here no matter what the season as its always pretty whatever the time of year. be careful in the winter as i dont think they salt the paths and they can get quite slick and dangerous. more

through the woods 8/20/2005

Highbanks is the best place to get lost around Columbus. There are real ravines and loopy trails as well as picnic and grill areas. You can go canoing and fishing, but I've never taken advantage of the water opportunities, I usually just walk around in the woods until the spider webs start freaking me out. I think there are some Indian burial mounds lying around somewhere in there as well. A good place to go sledding, except bathrooms are far, far away. more
