After seeing the great job Hicks did for our neighbor, we decided they were definitely the people we wanted to do a complete overhall of our front yard. Service was pompt and work was amazing. Hicks came up with a wonderful landscape design and we felt the price was most reasonable. We had all old grass removed, lawn graded and new Zoysia grass planted.\r All our planting beds were refurbished with new and existing plantings. The crew was very helpful and most willing to make it just like we wanted it. They worked diligently with amazing attention to detail. The new yard looks amazing! We are so pleased. We decided to sign a maintenance contract with them. Their first visit was last week and the lawn, beds, sidewalks, etc. look\r pristine! Now, all we have to do is water, water & water! more

Poor Landscaping, Horrible Communication 6/10/2010

We have been with Hicks Landscaping for only a couple of months and the entire time has been a pain trying to get them to understand what we want. Now they tell us they are mainly a commercial company? I guess businesses don't mind plants being killed, weeds growing and never being told anything. When we try to keep in touch by email (the method they recommended since talking to their Hispanic workers doesn't always get the message back to the office), they get upset and find that we are too bothersome. These people may know grass and they can do it fast, but don't try to get anything else. And if you hire them for grass, be prepared for them to show up any time, no regular schedule and often at seven in the morning. more

Excellent Lawn Design & Installation 4/22/2010

I recently had Hicks Landscape come out to my home in Raleigh (we just moved in) and perform a complete overhaul of my front and back yards. Tracie was extremely helpful, and informed me of all my many plant and patio options during the estimate. She gave me a few choices, and my wife and I picked which we liked best. Hicks started work the following week, removing many unwanted shrubs and small trees from the front of my home, and planted a beautiful row of smaller shrubs along my rear deck. The Hicks team even went out and mulched my new lawn, making it look fantastic! These guys were extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire process, and never once made us feel pressured into any options or add-on selling. We recommend Hicks to anyone seeking professional lawn care in the triangle area. I really wish I could post pictures on here! PS. Customer Service Lacking 6/4/2007

We called Hicks Landscaping to help us clean up our yard in May. The salesperson was helpful when coming to give a quote but after we signed the contract there was little communication on when the workers would show up to begin the work. They did a good job with the front yard; the backyard was a different story. We asked them to take out a few bushes in a particular area in the yard, and they ended up taking out all of the bushes, leaving a huge empty area with dirt and roots. We asked them to remove the concrete blocks and metal pipes laying around the yard, which they did not do. The head guy on the job said he would smooth out the end of our driveway, but he had to dig it out first, and ended up only smoothing out half of it, and did not come back, so there is a huge sink hole on the other half that now serves as a bird bath when it rains. I had to call the office several times during the span of two weeks, always getting the receptionist and always getting the same answer - our salesperson was out of the office and would we like to leave a message for him. I finally got his cell phone number, and when I called it and left a message during the second week, it was two days before I heard back from him, and his claim was that he was very busy and anyway I did not call his cell phone that week. I told him that if he was so busy that he did not have time to deal with his customers, it was his responsibility to find someone else who could. We can accept that companies make mistakes and if they live up to their responsibility and at least complete the job, that is fine, but when the salesperson shirks their responsibility and has the nerve to tell me that I did not call when I did and even left a message, that we do not tolerate. We were very understanding the whole time, even about the bushes - they offered to reduce the remainder of the amount we owed, which we thought was right. We would just like the same courtesy as a customer. more
