Hickory House Restaurant

Our trip to have dinner out at Olde Hickory (not to be confused with the Hickory House that used to be there)as a family turned into quite an experience that we'll not soon forget and not in a good way. My son even wrote a paper about it at school as a humorous paragraph. Inexperienced wait staff combined with a 1.25 hour wait for NO food and then lame excuses with no apologies amounted to us leaving. These owners need a reality check. more

Ribs were cold as was restaurant. Requested booth but told they were for parties of 4 but other "2's" were seated in booths. Overall, very disapointed in the food and the overall dinning experience. more

Ordered the ribs and hanger steak. One hour later the waitress informed us they were out of both items. Infact they were out of everything on the menu except the burger and poor boy. Ordered burger and poor boy and it took another hour and a half to get food! We will never be back. more

Good: My family has been going to Hickory's Bar and Grill since the new owners taken over 8 months ago. They have changed the look, prices, menu, and how they run a business. We both enjoy talking with them, and having a wonderful dinner. This place is also with The Hickory House, and the family who started this business has great support. Both Dawn and Chad know how to run and treat customers and staff. You can tell the staff support this family and love to work for them. We are now regular customers now!!. Other: We love this place, and would encourage anybody to try this location. We also will have all events and family parties at Hickory's Bar and Grill. See you soon, your regulars!!!. more

My husband and I have 5 children and so for us to get out was a real treat. We were told by friend to go to Hickory's Bar and Grill. We were Not disappointed!! The atomoshere was very simple but elegent and the staff was spot on. I did not see the bottom of my drink all night. My husband ordered the ribs and I had the filet. And the food was outstanding. We were even entertained by a perfomance by John Anthony. I haven't danced with my husband in a year and we danced all night. Before dinner was served we had the great pleasure of meeting the New Owners and what delightful people. Very accomodating and refreshing and full of personality. We are considering having our family night on Tuesday's (Kids eat free) now because not only is it a great place to eat but it is kid friendly. I would encourage anyone to take a short ride to Powell Ohio to enjoy this hidden treasure. more

Good: Me and my Husband come to Hickory's Bar abd Grill several times in a month. We love the new look, staff and the new owners. They both work well with each other, and are very friendly. The food is outstanding, you won't find a better steak/rib in Columbus. The specials/prices are unbeatable in Powell, OH. Since the new owners taken over, we love this place, and make this place home when we got out to eat. Thanks!!!!. Improvements: Nothing at ALL. Other: They have great entertainment with Jon Anthony, and John Schwab. The bar is friendly, and makes great drinks. This place is a hidden palace in Powell. I encourage everyone to try this location out.. more

Good: The menu is wonderful, great prices, and service outstanding. the new owners, Chad and Dawn one word GREAT!!! Chad even cooks on certain nights!!!. Bad: Nothing. Improvements: Nothing, but Chad cooking all the time, Great ribs!!!. Other: Come meet the new owners, but Chad might be in the Kitcen just asked for him, and you will see what Im talking about. more

Good: The hostess was pleasant and the waitress was pleasant and apologetic.. Bad: My filet was spoiled and they couldn't get it cooked medium.The two chicken breast were very tiny and had no taste,couldn't eat them.Terrible!!I had to ask for coffee twice,and then they only brought 1/2 a cup and it was burnt. She made a new pot and i had to ask twice to get a fresh cup of coffee.My steak stunk so bad that i asked for ketchup to kill the oder. It took three times of asking for ketchup before the waitress remembered to bring it.This visit was the worst experience i have ever encountered.. Improvements: Go back to the way the bar and grill were before it became under new management. It used to be a super great place to eat at.. Other: We used to go to this Hickory House for all our birthdays and special events.It was always "Excellent". Yesterday was a total disappointment.It would be great if the previous owners could come back and get it back to the excellent restaurant it used to be.. more

We love the Hickory House! They've got great ribs, and a staff that is eager to please! It's somewhat of a laid back atmosphere, but well worth it! They've got a loft that is great for private parties. We actually had our rehearsal dinner there, and it was a huge hit! more
