You got seated quickly, the service was friendly, the food was great but a little expensive! The performance was lively and kept you entertained. Great but not as good as Benihanna more

Great food and lots of it! 11/21/2008

Tonight was the first time we had ever been to this retaurant. I was very impressed at how quickly we were seated as it was a Friday night and we were expecting a long wait. The staff was very friendly and made sure our drink were always full. The show was ok, but my kids really enjoyed it. We got the meal that was 26.99. I can't remember what it was called, but included shrimp, steak and chicken. We also had salad, vegetables and fried rice. It also came with an appetizer of two chicken wings in a wonderful sauce and an egg roll. I was very impressed with the food and I am very picky. Our cook did the trick that I'm sure many of experienced where he tosses a piece of shrimp in my kids mouths. They had so much fun. He also made a volcano out of onions. If the price doesn't scare you away (thirteen to twenty-seven dollars) then you will love this place. My 7 year old son is now asking for his birthday party to be there. I would really recommend this place! Pros: Great food and plenty to fill you up and then some! Cons: Prices are a bit steep, we paid $225 for 6 adults and 2 kids. more

Fun and worth a trip! 7/17/2008

What a neat experience! Even on a busy Friday night we were seated within 15 minutes of our reservation time. The chef who cooked our food on the grill in front of us was a real showman and had fun with us...even tried to flip bits of grilled shrimp into our mouths from across the table and made an "onion volcano" for the kids. The plum sake was outstanding, and the wait staff was excellent. Expect to spend about $100 for a party of 4 people. Adult dinners at the grill range from $13-$20, and kids $7. Alcohol is a bit pricey. We found it to be an excellent value overall, and a relaxing, FUN atmosphere, beating the socks off of Benihana or Hanabi as far as price goes. We had tons of leftovers, and the kids raved about it ALL the way home. Pros: Fun relaxing atmosphere, good value for the money, great service & presentation Cons: Expensive alcoholic drinks more

Good for the whole family 6/4/2008

I know, there may be better teppanyaki places out there -- but for this area, this is the one! It's fun, the food is decent, service is friendly (if not always perfect). The show is OK, maybe a little less elaborate than Benihana. Thing is, we tried that other place once, and it cost us twice as much, plus we waited forever and they totally rushed us through. Hibachi let my daughter eat off our plates for free until she demanded her own at about 8 years old. They also have a reduced-price senior menu, which is perfect for my parents. If you want to impress a date, the other place might be a good choice, but if you are taking out the family, go to Hibachi! ps. do make reservations, especially on the weekends. Pros: family-friendly, reasonable prices Cons: some chefs are better than others more

We waited an hour to be seated but we didn't have reservations. The raspberry mojito is very good. We had a really good waiter. The hibachi chef show was not impressive. The sushi was pretty good. Pros: Good service Cons: Not a big hibachi chef show more

Decent Food, Lousy Service, Lousy Management 1/1/2008

My wife and I love Japaneese style dining. We search out and try different restaurants in our quest to find the perfect one. We decided to visit the Hibachi Japaneese Steakhouse after walking by it after a movie in the same complex a day earlier. We took our kids and parents for what we thought would be a great experience. We made reservations and showed up 10 minutes early. We waited for 20 until they had a table ready for us. Our waitress stopped by our table after we had been sitting for over 15 minutes and said she'd be right back. When she did return she took our drink orders, we told her that we were ready to order our food since we had been there a while and had plenty of time to make up our minds, but she said that we needed to wait until she got back with our drinks. Nobody ordered alcohol- only soft drinks and water, yet she still took about 10 minutes to return with our drinks. We then ordered our food. We ordered straight off the menu- nothing fancy. Our parents ordered off the senior menu, my wife and I the regular one, and the kids from the kids section. She left and then came back and said the food we ordered wasn't available on the menu we ordered from. We asked to see a menu and had to show her what exactly we wanted. She said that she wasn't that familiar with the menu and that she would try to fix it in the computer. The chef eventually came out and we had our dinner cooked in 25 minutes. Never during the course of the dinner were our drinks refilled or the salad bowls removed. The chef was a nice enough guy but not real talkative. After we finished our meals it was another 15 miuntes before we saw our waitress. We had to ask for our checks, 4 of the 6 meals were incorrectly priced on the bill, we had to ask the manager to fix the total 2 times, and we finally just gave up left without leaving a tip. The food was fine. Tasty but not enough rice. Veggies were good. We'll never return again however. Pros: Good food Cons: Lousy service, small pieces of sushi, sushi is overpriced, manager is rude more

It was really fast and prompt and friendly down there. I was especially impressed with the bartender, well i did sit at the bar. The drinks were excellent and he was extremely friendly and helpful. Adding to the whole Experience, great sushi and great atmosphere and of course drinks. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone, even if its a bit pricey its worth it. Cheers! Pros: Bartender Cons: A little pricey more

Good Sushi 7/26/2006

I enjoyed the sushi here. It is a great place if you don't feel like driving to Denver or Boulder and you want good food. The ambience is fair. Not the best for romantic dinner. Seems like it is better for casual family dining or lunch. The sake seemed a little overpriced. Otherwise this was a good experience. more

Terrible sushi 2/2/2006

We have our favorite sushi places in Denver but we came here because someone bought my husband and I a gift certificate. We're not big fans of the whole hibachi thing so we decided to eat at the sushi bar. It was by far the worst sushi experience we've ever had, the pieces were small and they only give you six pieces to an order of rolls. Some of the rolls we got didn't even have any filling in it. Also, I know a hibachi restaurant isn't a place to order wine but they gave us a smaller than usual wine glass and filled it less than half way --- was not worth $6.50 for the 3 sips we got out of it. Service was also very slow and friendliness mediocre. We'll probably never come back here. Maybe try the hibachi grill if you want to come here? more

Forget Benihana, This is the ONLY place! 3/21/2004

Forget Benihana! Hibachi Steakhouse, is hands down the best Japanese Hibachi in Denver. Benihana and others cannot hold a candle to this wonderful restaurant. My husband and I are regular diners there, and are always greeted warmly by the hostesses and wait staff. The food portions are enormous, and you should never walk out of Hibachi hungry! We recently made the mistake of going to Benihana for dinner, and realized that we will NEVER go anywhere but the Hibachi Steakhouse again! I would always make reservations to be on the safe side. It can get really busy on a Friday or Saturday night, but with reservations, you will ZIP by the waiting crowd and be escorted immediately to your friendly table! Pros: FANTASTIC FOOD!, IMPECCABLE SERVICE!, Lots of Seating! more
