The Best Hair Stylist 8/25/2006

Thanks Larry, you have got to be one of the best Stylist in this city. You did everything I could ever want with my hair, I only wish you could be at my house every morning to style it!!! The Best I've Been To! 7/24/2006

I read the reviews, and you don't know until you get to this place that it is wonderful! My sister and my neice go to Scott, so they recommended I make an appointment. I received fast and excellent service from Scott--Very professional, and the atmosphere is relaxing and fun. Once Scott was done, I got an eyebrow wax and some top-notch skin-care advice from Christiana... She invited me back to get a facial for half off next time, and I will definitely be back!! My skin and hair have never looked or felt better! Why would anyone shave?!?!? 7/9/2006

I finally got a brazilian and i am sooo glad I went to Christiana!!! I have heard horror stories from other women about bad waxes, but this was so easy!!! I will never shave again! She was so funny and her music is great. She even gave me half off a facial for when I go back! Do not go anywhere else!! My (former) hair stylist at Gould's told me to get waxed here instead of Gould's! Maybe I should change stylists too! Pros: CHRISTIANA Cons: no mani - pedi more

Greatest shop in town! 6/12/2006

My daughter wanted me to get a new cut and some color to lift my spirits. She booked me with Scott. He is the greatest. I love the cut and the RED...I mean RED color is so much fun. Everyone loves it. It was really fun to see my hair turn red again. Thanks Scott..I will be back. Pros: Great atmosphere, everyone is so upbeat Cons: Just wish I could stay longer! more

What a great Cut and Color 6/5/2006

I am new to Memphis. Moved here from the great state of Georgia!! I found this salon by asking 3 women in the Kroger grocery store where they get their hair done. My hair cut was good (i was scared to get it to short being my first time at this place) but the young girl did just what I asked for and even did a better job with telling me how to make my color look better. I was a little scared at first because the price was not as much as I was paying in Georgia, but all turned out great. Pros: Inexpensive, good parking more

Remember Your on the Internet 6/5/2006

Not everything on the internet is true. Think about it ? A stylist or another salon can write a review good or bad about a business or themself on this site! If I wanted a new salon, #1 go in check out the price list #2 I would ask for free advice from a stylist as what they could and could not do to fix,change or repair my hair. If I like what I hear then it's time to make an appointment. If you don't want to spend the time going into a salon #3 Ask people on the street where they get their hair done and who did it then go back to step #1 that is what I did and this is the how I found out that the People At this salon new what they could and could not do to repair my hair. Avoid this salon unless you know your stylist! 5/18/2006

I came here in early April for a haircut and color. The person who did my color was obviously very inexperienced. The new color stopped about half an inch from my scalp in places, so I looked like I still had dark roots. And I ended up with 4-5 overbleached clumps of hair at various positions on my head, including one platinum blonde streak right above my forehead. The stylist apologized and happily fixed the errors (and gave me a very good haircut). But I was there for almost four hours, and my hair is now extremely fragile due to all the bleaching. A couple of other people in the salon came out of there looking great, but most of the work looked pretty average. If you are not sure about your stylist, go somewhere else. The drop-off in quality between the senior stylists and everyone else is too great. more

I need somewhere to go after my wife tried to cut my hair. Dara a stylist there help my do, because I was jacked up. She the greatest in my book. I have the stick straight hair and it's hard to find someone to cut it, but it looks great now. If you have problems with your hair she can handle it. Missing my stylist already 5/11/2006

I have just move to Alanta, GA. for a new job and for a very long time David has been my stylist. I have sent co-workers, friends, and even a couple of strangers that I past on the street that have asked about my hair and where I have it done. I'm not a girl who spend time on my hair, shampoo, blow-dry, and a little product and I'm gone. That's the way I like it. Short, sassy, with attitude that's me. So he knows I willl be come back every six weeks or until he finds me a suitable replacement here. So if you're lookin for a stylist he's the man, just call ahead I might be in the chair myself. I just have to say my daughter's perfect wedding day, was perfect because of the staff at Hi! Gorgeous they made daughter and her brides maids look beautiful. Even with my daughther be the bride they had their hands full with this group of girls. I have to say that they are the very best in updo's and make-up, making them beautiful for their perfect day. Beautiful at 46 4/20/2006

I have been lived in Memphis for 8 yrs. I moved from salon to salon until I found Scott at Hi! Goregous, Inc. He's wonderful and I look great my husband said I look ten years younger . Scott has changed my complete look I have went from blonde to brunette with highlights and my hair feels wonderful I never thought that a woman my age could look younger by changin my hair color, but look at me now. Scott if you ever read this you're a magican with a color brush, you just don't know what you unleashed. Pros: professional , affortable , very clean Cons: outside needs work more

Hi! Gorgeous knows color 3/26/2006

A few weeks back I colored my own hair at home it went almost black. I'm a student so my money is tight. I look for the best salon and Hi! Gorgeous was rate the highest so I called for an appointment for that day. Just lucky that they had a opening with a terrific guy he worked a miracle on my hair without the damage of bleaching out . He highlighted my hair perfectly it was great I thought I was going to cut it off . David was very truthful and told me what he could do and help me price wise that was a huge help to me, but I have went back recently and did a all over color and cut he match my hair to my natural and it's a perfect color and cut he has to be one of the best stylist in Metmphis. Best waxing I've had in Memphis 3/10/2006

I moved to Memphis 3 years ago and I have been going to Hi Gorgeous for waxing for the last 1.5 years. Christiana does my waxing and she is excellent. I have had brow and lip waxing from her and she does a great job. My brows always look great and natural and I frequently get compliments. I recently worked up the nerve to get a Brazilian from her, I thought it would be extremely painful. It was less painful than my brow waxes!!!! She is great and very professional. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They always make you feel welcome when you come. more

Average Cut 2/2/2006

The atmosphere of this place was really nice and relaxed, but I wasn't happy with my haircut. After reading the reviews online, I thought it would be more stylish and well-executed than it was. The guy that cut my hair had a good idea for the style, but cut it with the scissors straight across. It looked ok in the salon after he styled it, but when I got home you could really tell that it was a straight across cut. I had to get my mom to fix it and cut some more layers in the back. First time visitors get half off, which is really nice, and he didn't do a horrible job, but I don't feel like I really got what I was expecting given what I'd read and heard about the salon before. Christiana came highly recommend by severel friends. I have wanted a Brazilian wax for soooo long, but I was so scared. I went to Christiana and I am still amazed! It was MUCH less painful then I expected. Plus, she is so funny, that you almost forget your getting waxed. Now she does my facials, and all my other waxing. I really recommmend leg and underarm waxing! I have saved sooo much time. She only needs 1/4 inch to wax anything! I get my hair done now by Grace and she is awesome too!!! My highlights look natural and my cut is stunning! Larry is great at color too, but he is sooo hard to get in with! Pros: Talented, Hours, Fun Cons: no mani/pedi more

Best Male Brazilian 1/3/2006

I have had about 5 brazilians around Memphis and Christiana is by far the best. She makes you feel comfortable and she is very good at her job. It is almost painless. I have been going to Hi Gorgeous for nearly all (no manicure/pedicures) my maintenance needs for a few years. The staff is always friendly, caring, professional, knowledgeble, willing to discuss personal needs (e.g., hair and skin) & the staff and owners are generous with charitable organizations & the community. Scott cuts my hair - love him! Christiana does my facials & waxings. If you have never met Christiana, or seen her ads in the Flyer, you are missing a Memphis treat. She is very knowledgeable and skilled and a MAJOR hoot - funny, fun loving, energetic with an edge that will have you coming back for more great services and a fun time! What more can you ask for: great service, friendly and experienced staff, a great value and tremenedous in their support of the community and charity orgainzations - why go anywhere else? The Best Spa and Salon 11/27/2005

I have been going to Hi Gorgeous for over 3 years now. I am a former Miss Tennessee and have been coiffed and styled by many but I can truly say the folks at Hi Gorgeous have true talent and they care about their clientele. I have sent at least 25 clients there for various services from haircut, color, massages, facials and waxing and all the clients have been thrilled with the service. Beware!!! 11/19/2005

I went to this place based on the reviews here - what a mistake!! I asked for my hair to be trimmed and kept all one length. What I got was a ridiculously ugly, cheap-looking ""U"" shaped cut much shorter than I wanted with bad, choppy layering in the front. My hair looks so bad I wish I could walk around with a bag on my head until it grows out. Maybe some of the stylists are good, but the person who cut my hair definitely is not. Any good stylist knows that they should always do what the customer asks for and only what he/she asks for. Now, I will have to endure months of humiliation while this train wreck grows out. Be careful or you will end up like me!!! more
