Hertz Rent A Car

I drove from San Diego and dropped the car off at Merced office. The worst customer service ever. First the woman working there Deniece kept asking me for the tag that is attached to the car keys, which I never had in the first place. They did not give me any plastic tag along with the keys in San Diego, and even after I explained it to her, she was trying to charge me for ""a missing tag"". Then she tells me that it is up for me to call the San Diego office to find out. Also, she tried to change me almost $70.00 for half a tank of gas, which made no sense for this economy car that I rented. It was such a pleasant experience with Hertz in San Diego, and what a difference... I will never rent with Hertz Merced office again. Just the attitude of people working at this office was the most unpleasant and disrespectful. There is no such thing called customer service there. more

I was traveling from yosemite to los angeles and along the way I got rear-ended. In any case, I needed a rental fast to get back home. So called Hertz and spoke to both James and Kristal- what a customer service nightmare. They never returned calls and after calling them back 15 times- they placed me on hold. Needless to stay I had enough. Now my insurance company and attorney have to deal with them. Shame on James and Kristal for making this difficult situation even more frustrating. more
