Herrera, Carlos R, Md - Heights Doctors Clinic

My one and only visit with Dr. Herrera was typical of a doctor that sees too many patients in one day and appears to put money before his patients. His staff is rude, there is along wait for your appointment and then a very very long wait in an exam room.\r \r At the end of my exam, Dr. Herrera made a snide remark about my health and my age even though many of my health problems stemmed from a botched surgery. No one likes to have their doctor ridicule them!\r \r When I called to renew a prescription for blood pressure meds I have been on for 8 years, I was told I had to spend more money to come in and get my presecription renewed and if I didn't like it, I could find another doctor. This call was made 3 days before Christmas and I was leaving to go out of town the next morning but the holidays and managing my blood pressure didn't seem to matter to Dr. Herrera. \r \r I will be happy to find another Dr. Baylor Clinic has wonderful doctors and while I hoped to find one in the area I live, I would rather drive to the med center than have a doctor so clearly in it for the money.\r \r more

Hi! My name is Ed Strenkowski - I am a health and safety lawyer.. I've been practicing many years, and have lived all over the country. About a year and a half ago, I chose Dr. Herrera to be my primary care physician because simply stated, he's the finest GP doctor I have ever gone to in my life! He's totally focused, totally dedicated.. very straight forward and direct which is what I especially enjoyed. Dr. Herrera is the kind of doctor who will work with you and truly drill into what ails you.. after my first two visits, I kept thinking, ""wow, after all these years, I've got a doctor who truly cares and who racks his brain as to what my health needs are - short, mid and long term."" He is brilliant, which is not a surprise given that he's a Harvard med grad. I can't say enough about him and his staff.. they are so on top of my needs, med refills, file, test results etc.. they follow all the latest health protocols.. I do alot of OSHA compliance work and so I know quite abit about clinic protocol and safe handling of samples, bloodwork etc. Their clinic cleanliness and attention to these issues are flawless.. frankly, a staff like Dr. Herrera's could go head to head with any major health staff around the country. I'm a lifer with Dr. Herrera and his group. My friends who go to him say the same. .. he's topflight and outstanding, and everything a doctor should be. He's what I would call a ""doctor's doctor""! I expected a little more of an exam then blood pressure check and a cold stetescope on my upper back. Thats it, from a Harvard MD., Maybe he meant Harvard Elementary.
