This restaurant holds a special place in my heart because it is where I had my first date with my husband. Since then the management has changed, the chef has changed, and the decor has changed a bit. But we keep going back there because through all of the changes the commitment of the owners to culinary excellence is clear. The prices have soared over the past ten years, making this establishment less of a "Publick House" and more of a fancy-schmantzy place. (You know you're in a fancy restaurant when the salad is about three spinach leaves and a crouton with some dressing drizzled on top, it isn't included with the cost of dinner--and it costs $8.)
