The people at Heritage Veterinary Medical Center are truly compassionate about what they do. My dog has been going there for a couple years and was recently diagnosed with cancer. He was doing very well and I did not know anything was wrong until the doctor had me feel all of his large lymph nodes. They started him on treatments where we would go in every week for different injections until we were in remission so I got to know everyone there very well. Their kind words and friendly atmosphere made every visit enjoyable and their receptionist, Margo, was always a joy to talk with while waiting. Thank You! more

At this vet hospital, everyone goes above and beyond! I truly felt assured that my cats health was in good hands. Dr. Wright was very compassionate and patient. He answered all of my questions and concerns regarding the different procedures and injections that my cat was undertaking without using extensive medical terminology that I would not understand. The technicians and staff were friendly, sincere and very empathetic to the amount of stress I was under while my cat was admitted there for 3 days. They were always willing to put me on the phone with Dr. Wright so that I could be properly informed of my cats progress. Not once was I made to feel like a nuisance. In addition, this clinic went the extra mile to assist me with my budget while at the same time ensuring that my cats health and recovery was not jeopardized. My cat was sent home with needed follow up medication and he was also put on a prescription diet to act as a preventive. This is not a ""take your money and run"" kind of clinic. Simply put, this clinic helped saved my cats life. He would not have survived had it not been for the urgent, quality care of Dr. Wright and the staff at Heritage Veterinary Medical Center. more

I’ve been taking my dogs to see Dr. Ehrlund and Dr. Wright for over a year now. Both of them are very knowledgeable and friendly. I started using them when I couldn’t get my dog into one of the large clinics in town on a Saturday so I stopped in and got an appointment with them. My dog has had epilepsy, but was still having seizures on the medication. The doctors here understood the situation and switched him to a drug that is not only generic (less expensive), but doesn’t require expensive blood tests every 6 months. Since then, he has not had any more seizures. I’m forever grateful to them for helping us. They really do focus on the care of my pets instead of the bottom line! more

Great service. I was very pleased with my visit with Dr. Wright, the new vet. I have been struggling with my dogs skin issues for several years with a different vet and Dr. Wright has him looking ten times better after just two visits. It took some convincing on his part, but changing my dog’s diet to a prescription diet was well worth the money. Prompt service, friendly staff. I will certainly return to him for future issues. more

Comedy of Errors 4/9/2011

This is a copy of the email I sent to Heritage Veterinary Medical Center about why I chose to take my business elsewhere:\r First, please cancel my appointment for Saturday, April 16th; I am no longer in need of veterinary care for my cat as I have found what seems to be more reliable service at another facility.\r \r I gave your clinic first opportunity because you are located closest to where I live, and I have always firmly believed in supporting neighborhood businesses; however, I could not in good conscience follow through with Heritage Veterinary Medical because of a ""comedy of errors"" that not only was not humorous but upset me because your employees seemingly did not care enough to think through the consequences of what became empty words/'promises', which resulted in a wasting of my time.\r \r I first called about information on flea care for my cat on Friday April 8th and was told by ""Erica"" about the products that you carried and how the Frontline Plus that I had purchased was no longer effective because fleas had developed an immunity to it so I would need Vectra, which I could purchase at your office for $18.50. She told me that you closed at 6pm on Friday and were open from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday.\r \r I came in around 5pm that same day and spoke to ""John"", who told me that I couldn't purchase that product over-the-counter since my cat was over 9 pounds, something I was not told anything about over the phone, which I let him know. I explained my flea problem, including what I had been told by ""Erica"" earlier in the day and wondering if it would just be better off if I brought in my cat so the doctor could examine him. He went to an area of the office out of my line of vision to talk with the doctor, who I could hear him talking with. Instead of using this vet tech as some sort of go-between, I had hoped the doctor herself might come out and address my concerns but obviously she must have been too busy (even though there were no other people/pets in the center at that time of day). I did not make a big deal out of this, since I was told I could come back tomorrow with my cat.\r \r So I came back Saturday morning and was told by the desk receptionist that the vet was not there, that she only came in the first and third Saturdays of the month---something I was NOT told the day before. This indeed irked me because I was just at your office less than 16 hours previous. Also, this person at the desk said she could sell me what the other person the day before said he couldn't sell me; why is this???\r \r When I asked this person the same question, she said all she knew was Advantix was the medicine that only the doctor could approve and that she could sell me up to three doses of this Vectra. If I wanted to see the doctor, I could make an appointment.\r \r At this point, I was not only confused but upset as well; while the workers themselves were not unpleasant, there was an obvious disconnect in the information that these workers were supposed to know and share AND there was a glaring lack of forethought about telling a customer to bring in his pet on a day when the vet was not going to be working (this itself is somewhat troubling, since one would hope that a doctor would be available when the center was open---something the other vet center I eventually went to also thought was troubling, as their doctor does work on the same days the vet clinic is open).\r \r I hope you will provide better service to people in the future and take my bad experience as a wake-up call to improve. In the meantime, I will take my business to a vet center where more time is taken to address my needs as a customer and a responsible pet owner. Know that upon my arrival at this rival business, each and every staff member made a concerted effort to answer my questions in-depth and help me find solutions to my pet's problem---unlike what in effect was token, lip-service by Heritage Veterinary Medical Center.\r \r more

THANK YOU DR.EHRLUND!!!!!!!!!!! 8/10/2008

I am a new pet owner and recently Heritage was highly recommended to me. I took my new yorkie to visit Dr. Ehrlund and I was so impressed with her and her staff. I think everyone there is highly trained and there customer service was exceptional. I even started there Doggy Boot Camp Classes with my pet and not only have I learned the basic sit and stay , I am learning to get rid of that negative behavior that these courses teach. Now I know Pet Smart or Pet Co. cant give me that. This is more than puppy classes. This was a time well spent and so much fun. I even learned the instructor does this for a living trainging dogs that go to Iraq and other contries.I was impressed. Thank You Dr. Ehrlund so much. I will be back for sure! Pros: Highly trained friendly staff, great doctor. more

Great Boarding Facility and Awesome staff 8/9/2008

I recently boarded my pet at Heritage Veterinary Medical Center. I have been a long standing customer of Dr. Ehrlund since 1981. I have always recieved excellent care for my animals. Dr. Ehrlund's kind a compassionate spirt has really helped our family over the years. I am sadden to see the response posted above. The person above may not understand that excellent patient care requires a good background check(i.e. labwork) prior to treatment. They should be ahppy that the staff was concerned for the well being of their animal and wanted to make sure it was ok prior to is surgery. Is this person really sure no one cotacted them? I have never experinced this from Dr. Ehrlund. The animals are kept indoors in one of the most beautiful boarding facilities that I have seen. Anyone can stop by and tour the facility and see the excellent & cleanly conditions the animals stay in. I have always had EXCELLENT Customer service. Pros: Excellent Facility, Modern Equipment, Nice Dr & Staff more

Terrible Customer Service 9/25/2007

I have two dogs so I was looking for a good vet around home. Somebody recomended this clinic. I guess doctors are good because they have a lot of clients, altough they could not cure my dog of a simple virus. My concern was that when I took my dog for spay they estimated it would cost between $157 to $187, well I was charged $330, quite a difference. they said it was because they had to do a pre operatory check to which I say do not do it. they did it any way because it was the dog's first time there. i strongly belive they should of call me and ask. With my other dog was the same, they gave me a written estimate of $60 dlls for a treatment, well I paif over $85 for an unfinished treatment and the dog got even worse. My baby had to spend the night, well, they called me and left the following message: If you do not come and pick up your dog int he following minutes, then you will have to wait until 5 or 6 pm, this was at 10 am and my poor baby had beed there since 7:30 of the previous day. I got there in 15 minutes and they were gone. Pros: No Pros Cons: Everything. Had a Terrible experience more
