Herb's Rest Stop

My wife and I recently moved and lo and behold the queen box spring would not fit up the stairs nor through the windows. We needed either a platform bed or a split queen box spring. Bob at the store told us to go for the split box rather than a rush rush decision on platform beds, it would save us money and headaches. Since we lived only 2 miles away he offered to drop off the box springs himself after the store closed, which was 45 min later. I mean where do you get a delivery the same night or even within the hour :) We'll be going back for sure Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable advice Cons: I wish I found this place earlier :)) more

My girlfriend and I looked at a handful of places and were very picky. Budget was our #1 priority. Herb's Rest Stop came to be our last stop. We talked to Mike (w/a mustache:)) and he was aggressive but in a very helpful way. He told us to get what works for us. He treated us like people. We bought probably the cheapest queen firm mattress and we were very happy w/the price. He gave us a heck of a deal. After 3 nights, we found we just didn't like the mattress and we came back to Mike and was willing to do a trade. We traded in our queen firm and upgraded to a nicer bed than we had planned to get. Mike gave us a great deal and we decided it would be stupid to pass up. We are both really happy w/ it. I am laying in it as i am typing this review actually and I could pass out now. It's super comfortable. The best part about Mike and the Herb's Rest Stop is that they work w/you. They understand peoples wants and needs. All mattresses are new too in plastic!! My girlfriend and I have visited Herb's twice over the past four months, once to buy a futon and just yesterday to buy a twin bed mattress. I was planning on buying a platform bed frame through Ikea, and just looking for a mattress at Herb's. The reason why we returned here was because Bob, the floor salesman, was so exceptionally helpful and just your basic good guy that we went back there first. When I asked for a twin mattress, he was clear about pricing and pushed nothing on me; his pricing was marked down seriously from the pricing listed on the floor models. After choosing a Simmons mattress, I spoke with him at length about platform bed frames, and not only did he give me an amazing full price on the package, but the delivery was included for free because I bought two pieces. I left there spending much less than I would have at Ikea - and the bed fram there wasn't even made of real wood! Also, they deliver it, bring it in and assemble whatever needs to be assembled if needed--though mine doesn't - but that's for a small fee, though Bob is good at negotiating deals if you are purchasing a package that day. My girlfriend also wanted to see if there was a matching chair for the futon, and Bob took her number so he could check into things. he called her back that evening to tell her the status of the chair. Bob checked on everything via phone by immediately calling his boss or suppliers to make sure items were available. I spent more than $100 less than I would have at Ikea and I won't have to sit with an instruction book and a power drill! And delivery is happening on the 24th---less than a week out. Basically - Herb's is a find. It looks like a little no place place- it's nothing to look at from the outside - but again, it has some of the best deals. And the best staff too.
