I bought my car from an indy dealer, got the '02 9-5 for a cheap price. Then a year later, i wanted to get it done "correctly" at a dealership. Nearest saab dealership? Herb Chambers Saab. I went there, got
-Front brakes
-Front Rotors
-Cabin Filter
-Serp belt and pulleys
-fuel filter
-oil change
all for a measly price of $1100.
They suggested that i get the belt work done..... They said that the belt was was rotting with the pulley. "Yeah the roof was resenting the car, and it decided to peel back. And we found a unicorn shitting in your filters." kind of talk.
I didn't want to take a chance, and so I got it changed.
Then I drove to school without a problem. 600 miles away from Boston.
I parked at Detroit Airport to fly back home one day, and i started to hear some squeaking noises. I called Herb Chambers, and they said "bring it in, so we can get it checked out."
** if you're skimming, read this part please**
I went to the nearest saab dealership at school. They said that the belt was an old and dry belt. They said that maybe they grabbed a really old belt off the shelf. Then when i came back to the dealership, because it was squeaking again, they looked further into it, and said that the mechanic put the pulley on WRONG. and there was a washer that was just spinning freely.
I don't know if this was their intention, but i'm certainly tee'd off.
I'm in the process of calling them right now. their service manager is on the phone with a customer.
