We were really disappointed with our visit to ""Henson's Broom Shop & General Store"". The store is not old ! It is a new tin building that has no aircondition. So it was hot and muggy as we read about how great Mr Henson is and how famous his brooms are. Mr Henson howevere was very standoffish and did not show us how one of his brooms are made. This trip would had been a waste of time if it had not been for this place call ""See Toyland"" we found trying to get back on I24. They (Apple Valley Roadside Attraction) have a great folk art environment that is a tribute to old roadside attractions,a really mind blowing toyland and a real old country store/diner/Gulf gas station (now a museum of it's past history) built in the 20s. They have no brooms, but they treated us nicely and have no rebel flags !
Pros: Nice brooms for sale.
Cons: Mr Henson is very standoffish
