Henri's Restaurant

I have been to this restaurant many times including special occasions. I am so so sad to say that this restaurant no longer exists. The owner decided to retire which was very deserved. The restaurant is retired as well and has not been re-opened by anyone. more

We have been going to Henri's for many years and it has gone up and down in the past, but the new team that is running the place now is spot on! The decore, the cleanliness, the quility of food, the peronal service, the presentation of the food and drinks, and the fun it all just seemed to come together. I had the new caribbean prawns (YUM) to start with and a drink, made by this cute bartender and he muddled my fruit, a truely hand made lemondrop to die for! My husband had the new Surf and Turf combo option that he built himself and the ribeye was cooked perfectly with the coconut prawns to compliment it. I had the crab and shrimp stuffed Halibut sooo glad they went back to quality, it was amazing! After dinner we decided to stay for music, dancing and pool. We had no idea who the band Rekoyl was, but they put on a great show with fog and great rock music! we had a blast dancing and hanging out, we made new friends and even played some foosball. Bottom line is you need to check this place out...again Pros: Best hand made drinks and food in town! Cons: outskirts of town more

I really want to like Henri's. We enjoy supporting local restaurants and I believe Henri's is locally owned. We are in our early-mid thirties who enjoy getting away from the kids everyone-in-awhile for a nice dinner. \r \r I had the 6 oz top sirloin with mashed potatoes and vegetable. The sirloin was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I had a glass of their chardonney which was also very good. My husband had the pork loin with baked potato and vegetable. The loin was tender, but a little overcooked and dry. \r \r This restaurant encompesses each of: the good, the bad, and the ugly!\r The good: The sirloin, wine, house salad and service.\r The bad: The mashed potatoes with gravy tasted like paste and from a box. The vegetable was overcooked corn that tasted from a can. \r The ugly: The decor is very outdated. The christmas wrapping paper around the posts, ontop the piano and lobby desk has to go! Their is a mix of very nice wall sconces and picture molding and 80's ish wall art.\r \r My suggestions for ambience are to get rid of the sketchy '80s wall art. Playup the nice moldings and beautiful sconces. Soften up the tables with just white tablecloths...get rid of the red and blue tablecloths! The candlelight is inviting, but does not make up for tacky decor!\r \r Henri's has potential to be great again. I wish the owners would put a little effort into ambience and decor, prepare ALL food from scratch (no boxed mashed potatoes) and provide a vegetable that is healthful and doesn't taste from a can. Driving out of Longview on this stretch of road on a summer night reminds me of Beirut. Lot's of concrete and underused real estate. On the left was Henri's (we were heading to Long Beach from Oregon) and we were hungry and decided to stop on a Saturday night. Well we ended up spending a few hours more then we planned!! The food was very nice, the bartender Alan was exceptional, there was live music and the band Second Hand Buzz was outstanding!! Many Kudos...we took a business card and may use them for an event we have coming up. All in all a diamond in the rough on the highway. We will definitely stop by again when we're in the area to see what happens! Pros: Good food, no pretensions, great entertainment Cons: I had to check to make sure I locked my car. more
