With a heavy heart I write this review. Dan at Henderson Auto repair chose to “cut all ties” (his words) after I gave him several attempts to resolve the issue. I was asking for him to reimburse me for just the labor on his end ($300) +/- and not even the parts for the repair. I did not even ask him to pay the $2,100 it cost me to fix the damage his mechanic did on my engine. THE WATER PUMP WAS INSTALLED AND NO BOLTS WERE HOLDING IT TO THE CAR. THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER WAS HELD BACK BY A DRILL BIT THAT BROKE OFF!!! I will explain the details now: On 9/15/11 my mother took her car there to do a starter, transmission service and water pump. In September 2013 after the car sat in her garage for six months she decided to sell it. I drove the car to California to sell for her. The car made a terribly loud clacking noise so I had it checked out before selling as I did not want to sell a car with issues. My mechanic texted me pictures of the water pump with no bolts and suggested that I contact the prior repair person. I was hesitant but he insisted saying that he would be responsible for such bad work if it came from his shop. He said “Do this for your mother.” I then contacted Dan who after two messages finally called me back. He explained that the mechanic that did the repair had left his shop. He explained that his work is guaranteed for 1 year/12,000 miles. I told him the car had only been driven 9,000 miles since repair and this was not a normal warranty issue but rather faulty repair on his end. He then asked me to email him pictures for review. I emailed the pictures and followed up with appx. 3 emails with no response. I then stated in the the email that if he did not contact me I would reluctantly be forced to write a review and contact the Nevada Automotive bureau regarding the matter. He still never called so I made another call to his shop. This is when he said he spoke with his partner and they decided to “cut all ties” because he felt I threatened him. This is when I calmly stated that I am a business owner and I would want my business to have a good reputation. The sad part is that my mom passed away during this process. My intention was never to do anything but correct the situation in a professional manner. Dan decided to cut ties so I am writing this review of the process I endured. It is sad not only that I lost my mother but that elderly people expect to be treated fairly and not taken advantage of. I feel Dan did not rectify the situation as a professional business owner and thus is the reason for my review. I am now contacting the Nevada Bureau of automotive repair. I have saved all the parts from the repair for proof of the faulty installation.
