This Christmas my husband decided to go all out and surprise me. We had talked about getting me a wedding band as I never got one when we first got married. We even window shopped a bit but it didn't seem like it was going to be in the budget this year when it finally came down to it, or so I thought.
Christmas morning I was handed an oddly stacked set of 4 presents all tied together. My husband told me to start from the bottom and work my way up so I did just as I was told and opened the first gift, topped with "Roses are Read." The spelling of "read" threw me off till I opened the first box to find three new books from my wish list.
The next box had another line, "Violets are blue," and inside a beautiful navy blue sweater. The third box was filled with socks and if you know me, you know that I just love socks - seriously! But right on top was yet another line to the poem, "This next box you open will knock the socks off of you!"
Inside this much smaller box was a beautiful diamond wedding band from Helzberg Diamonds. I really wasn't expecting it, even with the small box on top but it was quite a treat! Unfortunately, the beautiful band, although gorgeous on it's own, didn't mesh well with my wedding ring and we opted to exchange it for something that accented my ring a little better.
The sales people at Helzberg were just amazing. They took the ring back (with receipt) and helped me find the perfect band (actually TWO!) that worked for me. I found a small diamond band that looked very nice with my ring but just didn't make it stand out as much as I'd hoped. They were able to suggest a matching band, one on each side to make my ring stand out and together the set looks amazing. They had to special order the second ring and sent the band they did have out to be sized but I'll have them both to proudly display in just a short weeks time and I couldn't be happier - with the purchase or the service!
