I have been going to Helios fairly regular for a couple of years. It was a great coffee shop but only a passable cafe. The food is decent to good but the portions are small and the prices are large. Also, don't waste too much time studying the menu board as there is a 90% chance they will not have the item you choose. Just ask which couple of items they actually have, order, go get a paper as you will have 30 - 45 mins to wait. Bring your ipod because the barristas choose the music in total disregard to the demographicsof the paying customers. more

Quality Coffee Downtown 8/20/2008

My husband and I are super picky about our coffee. We roast our own at home. And this is the best place we've found in the Triangle. In fact I can't really remember having better coffee drinks than what we've had here. The atmosphere is decent, and free wifi is nice. But what's really important is the quality of the coffee. I know the owner is precise because I have seen him weighing his beans. That's how you get a precise amount of flavor and consistency in every cup. We LOVE it! more

Neat Stuff 8/31/2006

I went to Helios for the first time last night and was pretty impressed. Helios is a coffee shop, but it is also a wine/beer bar. They have an excellent selection of alcoholic beverages as well as a good selection of espresso drinks. Myonly complaint is that they are located in glenwood south which makes parking a pain in the butt. more
