Where do I begin? First, the wait is always terrible. When I was pregnant I was never seen less than 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Second, I only got to see a doctor once during the entire pregnancy. Third, I had a medical assistant call me up on the phone and tell me that my baby has an 80% chance of having spina bifida. I had to go in the next day for genetic counseling. That was the one time I saw a doctor, and he told me that it wasn't an 80% chance, but more like 1 in 475 but that it was still a large risk for someone my age. Then I had to start having monthly ultrasounds at MUSC. But this still didn't qualify me as being ""high-risk"", so I still had to see midwives at doctors visits. I saw a different one each time. It felt very impersonal. The final straw came towards the end of my pregnancy when I was having a terrible headache and swelling. The day before, I had just been to a visit and they said my bp was 145/95. The midwife told me that the bottom number doesn't matter, and that the top number is only considered high when it's over 145, so 145 was ok. The next day I was in the hospital, induced b/c of high bp. The same midwife also lied to my face, she told me around my 38th week of pregnancy that I would have to have an ultrasound because my baby might be growing too large. When I got to the ultrasound, the sonographer told me they were concerened that my baby had growth restriction because she was so small. I refuse to go back to LCWS.
Pros: Nice front office staff
Cons: Never get to see a doctor; long waits, rude midwives
