My wife has been going to see Dr. Hunter throughout her pregnancy and he's been amazing! Every time she is concerned about something she gives him a call and feels much better afterword! I can thank you enough for easing my wife's nerves. I hate to see her stressed out! more

Dr Reeves is the most caring doctor. I felt well taken care of. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful to me. more

The staff really cares about you. They always ask how I'm doing, even if it's just a yearly exam. They don't rush you through appointments. I've always felt comfortable here and I like the friendly staff. more

Dr. Christine Hunter and her staff operate inefficiently and with questionable ethics. In 2012, I requested an IUD from this clinic, which should have been an easy and inexpensive procedure. Instead, they told me my insurance wouldn't cover this procedure but would cover the expensive Essure sterilization device (a lie, since I later received the IUD from another office). I called before the pre-op to ask what to expect. The receptionist told me there wouldn't be an exam, but this was incorrect as they did examine me at the pre-op (this office consistently dispenses inaccurate info). During the pre-op itself, Dr. Hunter and her staff failed to adequately inform me about the Essure procedure and didn't mention any risks (including the risk of insertion failure) and Dr. Hunter mandated that I take birth control pills prior to the procedure even though my chart clearly stated that I was unable to take birth control pills due to severe side effects. I verbally mentioned this issue during the pre-op, and she ignored my concerns. During the procedure itself, Dr. Hunter performed in an unskilled manner and ultimately failed to insert the Essure device, which resulted in me spending ~$1000 out of pocket for no reason. Later, phone calls about my concerns were not returned. All in all, my experience with this office was terrible and a huge waste of money, and I would recommend that women go elsewhere to receive compassionate care from skilled doctors who honor a code of ethics. more

I don't recommend 6/11/2009

Where do I begin? First, the wait is always terrible. When I was pregnant I was never seen less than 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Second, I only got to see a doctor once during the entire pregnancy. Third, I had a medical assistant call me up on the phone and tell me that my baby has an 80% chance of having spina bifida. I had to go in the next day for genetic counseling. That was the one time I saw a doctor, and he told me that it wasn't an 80% chance, but more like 1 in 475 but that it was still a large risk for someone my age. Then I had to start having monthly ultrasounds at MUSC. But this still didn't qualify me as being ""high-risk"", so I still had to see midwives at doctors visits. I saw a different one each time. It felt very impersonal. The final straw came towards the end of my pregnancy when I was having a terrible headache and swelling. The day before, I had just been to a visit and they said my bp was 145/95. The midwife told me that the bottom number doesn't matter, and that the top number is only considered high when it's over 145, so 145 was ok. The next day I was in the hospital, induced b/c of high bp. The same midwife also lied to my face, she told me around my 38th week of pregnancy that I would have to have an ultrasound because my baby might be growing too large. When I got to the ultrasound, the sonographer told me they were concerened that my baby had growth restriction because she was so small. I refuse to go back to LCWS. Pros: Nice front office staff Cons: Never get to see a doctor; long waits, rude midwives more

Look around 12/18/2008

I loved Lowcountry Women's Specialists during my first pregnancy. Second time around wasn't so great. I was having bad stomach pain which caused me to get sick. I informed the midwife about this and I expressed my concern because I knew something was wrong. The midwife basically argued with me that I was just feeling more since this was my second pregnancy. She wouldn't even listen to me...She knew it all. I started going to there office in Moncks Corner after that. I wanted to deliver at the Summerville Hospital, but my doctor encouraged me to deliver at Trident. I don't even have enough space to type what went wrong there. Lets just say the midwife was not professional at all. She even cussed at one point. A few months after having my second child I had to have my appendix removed. That caused my stomach pains during my pregnancy. more
