Heidar Baba Grill

My friends and I always go to heidar baba for dinner or on weekends, but we recently went there for lunch on the weekday and they have a new lunch menu that goes from 11-4. They have all of their delicios plates for only 6.95!!! My friends and I were so impressed; the quality of the food was the same, just smaller portions for such a great price. They do take out for lunch menu as well. Definately must try it! Also, they have chicken nuggest now which taste great! more

I went to Heidar Baba last week with my husband and family to celebrate my birthday. We ordered the chicken plate, barg, and dill rice with lamb shank (baghali polo). The rice was the highlight of our pleasant trip to Heidar Baba. It was so fluffly and tasty that it just melts in your mouth. My familt and I have been to different persian restaurants, and this is the first place that I have found that make their rice so AMAZING. more

This restaurant is the best place to eat. I have been to some middle eastern restaurants, but heidar baba is by far the best one. Their food is seasoned well and the portions are perfect. Their rice just melts in your mouth. The barg and chicken plate is what I reccommend! more

I have been to many persian restaurants, and Heidar baba is by far has the most tastiest and freshest kabobs out there! The portions for the food are very big and the rice just melts in your mouth. The kabobs are marinated to perfection and seasoned well. Along side the perfected food is the very house-like ambiance and friendly staff and management. I definately recommend this place above all other persian restaurants! more

I was here a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend and we loved the place! The food is so fresh and the staff is friendly and helpful. Their food portions are so huge that you get exactly what you pay for and a whole more! I have been to other persian restaurants and they are quite stingy with the rice and meat portions, but not Heidar Baba. Ask and you shall recieve! This is our new favorite spot...great for date night on weekends! more

I must say they have the most superb food I have ever had! All the kabobs are very tender and juicy, and the rice is nice and fluffy. The plates come with large portions of rice and a choice of soup or salad. Each plate feeds about 2 people. more

I always do take out from this place but tonight I decided to dine in with my wife. The food was good like always, but the service was even better. The servers were very friendly and the manager on the floor was very efficient and quick. Great place for carry out and dine in! more

Heidar Baba Restaurant is truly a phenomenal restaurant. The owners are hard working and sacrifice a lot. The management is incredible with raw talent and great skill for such a young age. Me and my husband dine a lot at different places eating different foods from other cultures and this reastuarant is by far the best. We feel like we are going to a friend's house where we are greeted with friendly faces and great service. For those who complain about the price one suggestion: get a job and stop being so cheap! These people complain because they want a free ride. Heidar Baba is hands down a very unique restaurant with a unique ambiance. We go atleast a few days a week and we will continue to go and support them. God bless them for being able to establish a great business and attracting so many people. Avoid this place if you want to save money and convenience. I've been going to this place since 2002. I am very sad and disappointed to see this place going down year after year. The prices are higher than ever, this is one reason they don't have the to go menu on the counter any more. Pros: taste Cons: too many to list more

This is a rare find, especially in this area where Persian food don't even exist and unless you head out to the westside. This is not a formal type restaurant like most others, as a matter of fact it is very basic. You first order your food and they'll bring it to your table when it's ready, this is also good if you're in a hurry. They also have a comfortable and adequate dining area. The kebabs are phenomenal as always, it is nicely seasoned along with the many charred tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. My favorite is the rice, with the aroma of the saffron drizzled all over it which makes it that much better, it's so good I can just eat it alone without the meat! This is a perfect spot if you're a student from Pasadena City College (PCC) as they are located right across the street on Colorado Blvd. This is also a great place to eat with your family since they open 7 days a week. more
