We chose Heck’s Family Tree to do the flowers for our wedding after meeting with them to get a quote. We spent two hours going over every little detail of the flowers I wanted, and the owner seemed to completely understand what I wanted. I was very specific as to what I wanted, and he was able to compliment that with other great ideas, not just for the flowers but for other things in the wedding as well. I was so impressed, we wrote him a check that night, even though the quote was the highest we received. To me, it was more important to find someone that really understood what I wanted, and I really felt they did. Unfortunately, once the check was written, things didn’t go as I imagined. I had to initiate all calls to them for follow ups before the day of the wedding. My calls were not returned promptly. I made a few minor changes to the order, taking off a couple items, but when I received the final bill, it was for more. When our flowers were delivered on my wedding day, they were not what I had ordered. Flowers were included in the hours that weren’t even ordered. We paid them to set up our reception site, and when I called to see if it was done an hour before the ceremony started, they hadn’t even started. While the flowers still looked fresh at the end of the night, my bridesmaid’s arrangements didn’t stay together, and they had to use hair ties and rubber bands to keep them in place. After the wedding, I called them to discuss my dissatisfaction, and found out that the person I met with to place my order had nothing to do with actually putting it together. The notes he took during our meeting were incredibly vague with no direction, despite the fact that I was very clear as to what I wanted, including exactly how many of what flowers in what color, and how they were to be tied. I was told I would get a call from the owner, and never did. My calls to them were pushed to the side, and I was rudely told they could do nothing for me. Even now, a year and a half later, I have never received an explanation from them for any of the problems we had. Even though I was very impressed by their store, which had a lot of unique gift and decorating ideas, I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with the service and products we received on what is one of the most important days of a couple’s life. They were the only vendor from our wedding that I would not recommend to other bride-to-be’s. more
