For what it's worth, I have never written a bad review about a business before.
For Valentine's Day, my boyfriend bought a $195 gift certificate for a series of 3 acupuncture treatments. At that time he discussed with the owner (Melissa) the packages and what each entailed. Everything seemed great. The following day, I called SEVERAL times to set an appointment...every time, receiving a voice mail. Two days later the acupuncturist called back, only to advise that she wasn't aware of any acupuncture package. Nor was she familiar with the procedure that had been explained by the owner to my boyfriend. I advised that Melissa had said that the first treatment was to last approx 1.5 hours -- to which she responded that the 1st hour would be us discussing my health, medical problems, and desired results. AN HOUR?!??!! This was hardly the spa experience I'd expected. The acupuncturist further stated that she was only available 3x per week, all of which conflicted with my work schedule. Nevertheless, because I already had the gift certificate, I scheduled an apt (where I would have to leave work early). Shortly after setting the apt, I received an email requesting that I complete a 9 PAGE questionnaire/health intake form prior to my appointment. 9 PAGES!!! This isnt standard procedure for spas, and quite frankly, much too intrusive.
For these reasons, I was no longer interested in treatment at this spa. I called to cancel my appointment that Wednesday, Thurs, AND Friday, leaving NUMEROUS messages. Polite at first, then progressively more frustrated. The owner, Melissa finally called me back Friday evening. She took no responsibility for the myriad of things that had gone wrong, and in fact faulted everyone at her spa stating that they didn't know what they were doing, or weren't supposed to be setting appointments, etc. Despite her unprofessional manner, she finally agreed to refund the value of the gift certificate. When I attempted to provide her with my boyfriends credit card information, she refused to take it from me, stating that he would have to personally call. He called immediately after we'd hung up. And the next day. And every day the following week. Leaving messages on the voice mail, and with the receptionist, to no avail. To date I have not been refunded. And in fact, just received an email ...confirming the appointment I've tried to cancel for weeks now. This place is the absolutely worst.
