The Museum
Learning and self-exploration come easy when they're made to be fun. That's what this 85,000-square-foot hands-on children's museum is all about. Six themed areas and more than 200 colorful, interactive exhibits appeal to children, teens and adults. Besides the temporary and permanent exhibits, about a dozen different demonstrations take place throughout the day. Topics include fire safety, car and train safety, nutrition, fish feeding, beekeeping, face painting, the Heimlich maneuver and dental hygiene.
The Exhibits
The Living Gadget is a place to learn about how our bodies work. Us 'n' Stuff delves deeper into basic human anatomy. Health Village takes visitors into a hospital emergency room and doctors' offices. Safety Challenge discusses various emergency and first aid situations. The Life Trek area brings people on a journey through the stages of development. In this exhibit, visitors make important life choices, then learn what the consequences might be.
