Health Central Hospital ER

IDK if the doctors and staff are not getting paid well or if they just don't give a damn about there patients. I came in due to weakness and no feeling in the right side of my body and a bad migraine they called a stroke alert ran me to get a ct scan and MRI put me in a room they never sent a neurologist to see me or physical therapy they admitted me for a night checked my blood pressure that stayed very high and next day the doctor (Seifert) came in and discharged me and told me to continue normal activity well that would be hard because i could even walk or use one side of my body. Well to make a long story short i seeked out a neurologist on my own\r he took one look at me admitted back in the hospital Florida Hospital and ran all the proper test \r and found out not only did I have high cholesterol but I had suffered from a small stroke! DO NOT GO TO DEATH CENTRAL! more

I was scheduled to have my twins at Winnie Palmer because I heard horror stories about Health Central. I live in Winter Garden so Health Center was definately more convenient but having a nick name of Death Central is not where I wanted to give birth. At week 28 my doctor scheduled me to have NST done twice a week but I didn't want to travel to Winnie Palmer for this (not all Dr Offices can do NST for twins) so I figured I could use Health Central because they couldn't hurt me or my babies and it was close. Upon arrival the staff blew my mind and how helpful, professional, friendly and over awesome. From the ladies that checked me in to the labor and delivery nurses. I became friends with everyone at the L&D floor and decided at 32 pregnant that I wanted to deliver at Health Central. Everyone I talked to cautioned me but none of them had direct experience simply passing negative rumors they could not justify. At week 35 I went for my schedule NST. Jackie the on duty L&D nurse on that day recognized some contractions which prompted her to ensure she examined all the systems and low and behold I ended up delivering my twins at 7.34 and 7.35pm. A twin delivery involves more staff than a singleton delivery but Jackie stayed past her schedule time to help me. She rallied the staff and I have a great experience having my twins. I was handed over to Patty who was taking care of my post postpartum care. I have singled out only a few of the people who helped me through this time but everyone there was awesome. I have to give soo much thanks to the Nursery staff. I had to leave my babies in the hospital for 10 days after they where born. Everyone at the nursery kept me up to date on my babies progress with phone calls and giving me a lot of one on one support while I was visiting my babies. I have never met a more dedicated collections of staff members who work together as a team. I hope this review will have you thinking twice about passing on the negative comments about Health Central and check it out for yourself. Its a great place to have your baby or babies. God bless all those ladies for their support when my husband and I needed it. more

So I enter the ER after excruciating pains in my back and side and I am having a hard time breathing and peeing.. I sat in the lobby for over 110 mins then was brought back into my own room thinking thank god im finally gonna get some relief. Nope another 3 hrs went by and still nothing. I then asked a nurse to get me papers to sign myself out AMA (Against Medical Advice) which was funny considering iv never seen a Doc yet... Anyways so when the doc catches wind that im dressed and ready to walk out he decides to make me a priority.. He comes back telling me i have a server kidney issue and repeates servere multiple times and gets me admitted asap. What I find our is my body was full of bacteria and the term i was explained was sepsis... iv been here 5 days now and im still noit better! Then i get told i now have a liver problem to which im asked if i am an alcoholic 50 times ( fyi i have maybe 2 drinks a mnth). So I have to point out there is 1 NURSE ONLY her name was jullie with 2 Ls lol that def does NOT belong in this hospital... She was everything a nurse should be and more and honestly I felt as if she could have been a Doc instead of just my nurse... She fixed all the blown out veins and damange the rest of the staff inflicted upon me during my stay. and understood my personality without threatening me to spark a reaction like the rest of the team here on the 3rd floor... mind you i am an extremem Bi-Polar Shzo that they put in the over flow with all the kids and children and babies and then provoked me every day sayin i was goin to be discharged so id get all packed up and ready to go and then an hr later say oh no you werent discharged.. this is by far the worst hospital i have ever been in.... Thanks so much to Nurse Jullie who works on the 5th floor normally for seeing the issues at hand and addressing them for me... It was so very much appreciated and thank you from the bottom of my heart!!\r you want 5 stars... They belong to Jullie! more

Our family’s experience at Health Central was beyond pleasant. The staff created a positive environment from the moment we walked in the door. I immediately observed the doctors in the ER and on my brother’s unit to be very knowledgeable and competent. We were impressed with the timeliness of my brother’s diagnosis and how soon he began treatment. The staff communicated very well to my family while we watched his health improve. I tell everyone about my experience. I saw firsthand how compassionate Health Central’s staff is and I was more than pleased with the quality of care he received. Pros: Great staff & services more

I highly recommend Health Central hospital in Ocoee. This hospital is like none other I've encountered -- their staff are caring and truly treat you like family. Check out the hospitalcompare.gov website and rate this hospital against ORMC and others...you'll see they exceed the quality standards for most of their peers. I went to the ER, as I have had brain surgery and suffer from severe migraines. After being brought back to a bed, I waited three hours b4 a doctor came in. I was crying as I was attempting to talk to him. He may as well have rolled his eyes, as he kept referring to me having ""just a headache"" - I had been throwing up for 48 hours. The nurse came in with a syringe and my husband asked her what it was. She said he ordered benedryl and reglan, both of which I am allergic too. Didn't read my chart. He asked to see the dr. again and we waited 2 addt'l hours... the charge nurse came in and apologized saying the doctor was not coming back in and I was discharged. My husband couldn't believe it. I was wheeled out and sent back home with a prescription for ""Pepcid"". I felt like I was in a 3rd world country!!!! Cons: No compassion for sick ppl more

I went to the Health Central ER this morning, The triage nurse was very nice and helpful. She led me back to a bed where I sat in excrusiating pain from an infection in my mouth. You did not have to be a genius to see that I was in significant pain from a tooth infection since my face was so swollen my eye was swollen shut and it looked like a football was neatly tucked in my cheek. I waited 45 min until a Dr walked in ....looked at me and states ""you need to see a dentist"", there is nothing I can do for you. When I began to cry and express to him the agonizing pain I was in he told me ""I am not here to be yelled at"" My husband defended me and let him know I am not yelling, just in a lot of pain and the friday before Christmas there are no dentist that will see me...please help ....he then stated he would give me an injection of antibiotic (Rocephin) at this point I knew I needed to leave. Since it was written very clear on my chart and wrist band that I am allergic to rocephin. Do NOT go to this hospital.....ORMC is a drive but it is worth your life. more
