Haymarket Medical Center is our family practice for awhile. Doctors are fine, but staff is kind of not nice. We are thinking to switch to someone else in area. Why I am writing this review? And what became probably a last drop into our patience is situation we are currently having with them. Our 15 years old son is a patient there too. When we called there this morning and ask if they have flu shots (seasonal and H1N1), they said "YES" and they have them both; and if we can bring him in to make the shots, answer was "NO". At first they said that only doctor who is taking children (Dr. Mancini) is in Iraq now, and nobody else takes adolescents, and they send all adolescents somewhere else. After our question what it has to do with flu shots, they came up with another excuse, that our son is not established patient and was there only once for physical. I think, he was there at least three times, but even he was once (thanks god he has good health), it does not make him not to be eligible for flu shots in his doctor's office. Dr. Mancini will be back in December anyway. They have file on my son, they have all his information, I have another 23 years old son with them, who is getting shots from them, and he was there maybe couple times also. This situation is plain stupid and ridiculous. There is luck of flu shots everywhere in VA, you really can't find place where to get shots, and your own family practice sitting on these shots, saving them for some preferred patients, I guess, and refuses to serve my 15 years old, who is in a high risk. I think, it is unacceptable and inexcusable attitude by any means. Now I have to run all over VA to find H1N1 shot for my son, when it is actually available in my own family practice office.
Cons: lack of service
