Chris called me within 5 min of me submitting my request (Nov 9). He was very nice and came out promptly the next day. He also promptly took my $600 down payment for a $1200 job that he said would take about 2 weeks. The pool was full of algae with leaves and other debris on the bottom. The first step he said was to put some chemicals in the pool to start the process of clearing the water. Once the was clear enough to see the bottom, he could begin working on the rest. Today is Dec 10 and he has not been back since. He has no showed 4 times and does not return my calls for several days or a week with a reason as to why he didn't come. He promises another time he will be there and has yet to show up. At one point a couple of weeks ago, the pool was semi clear but it looks like it did when he first came out. I finally reached him this past Friday (Dec 5) and advised him that I needed to hire I could depend on to do this job because I am trying toput my house up for sale. Chris did have some family issues and I understand that, but he is refusing to give my money back. He thinks because he put some chemicals in it once that I should pay for those. I told him that it was not on me to pay for the chemicals that ultimately went to waste because he did not come back. He was to call me Saturday to “negotiate” which he never did of course. I called him two days ago (Dec 8) and again today (Dec 10). He does not pick up his phone and has not returned my call. It is apparent to me now that Chris does not intend to return my money and now I must hire someone else to start the process from the beginning again. As far as I’m concerned, Chris has just stolen this money from me. Not only would I not recommend him, I would strongly caution anyone that even considers hire him. He is not at all dependable and highly unethical. Steer clear of Hayes Pool Service.
