I bought a Delta combination belt/disc sander from them at one of their November Big Deal sale (actually forgot the name of the sale, but it is like a once a year sale and it is like a ""Big Deal"">>not really though to me). Any way it requires some assembly. When I finally put it together and switch it on, the motor makes a loud scraping sound. As I look at the scraping sound more closely, I notice the motor housing is damaged. This damage apparently caused by the box being dropped. The only reason I took the box, was because it was the last box they had. Bad move on my part. So. I bring it back and tell me that there is no more of that product in stock. They say they will replace it when t the product comes in. I say okay, but I want a receipt saying that I returned the product. They said that I don't need a receipt because"" they will remember me. "" So the sales floor clerk, a cashier and that older Japanese lady who is like the manager, agree that on returned items, they don't give return receipts. I say to them that from my experiece as a person who has worked at a retail store and from personal experience returning merchan-dise>>>I have alway gotten a Receipt!!! I ask them how come they do business this way? They say, ""It creates extra paper work..??? They then finish by saying that they will take my number and call me when the item comes in. So guess what happens. I don't get a call from them at all. So I call them up and say to them>>>When is it gonna come in and how come I didn't get a call. They say They will call me up in a week or two with an answer from their Rep. Three weeks past and again I get no call. They say the manufacturer no longer makes that machine. So come in and get a credit. It is now March of the following year. I come in with my receipt and talk to the Old Japanese lady manager and the sales floor manager. I show them the receipt and tell them I want my money back. They tell me, ""how come you took so long to come in, I look at them and tell them>>""you must be kidding me!"" The guy sales clerk tells me>>""are you sure you didn't get credit already!!??? I have returned to that store a couple more times like a dumb fool. No one can be that awful can they? The second time I go there to buy saw blades for my Band Saw. Guess what, they have blades that only cut Metal in stock, so I can't buy any that will cut wood. Okay I will buy a Dremal then. The 2 floor clerk says I can get it for 10% off and all the signs on the sales floor say, everything 10% off. I go to the Old Japanese lady to ring me up, she says I can get 10% off, so she lets the other cashier girl ring me up. Guess what, the girl say, this item is regular price. I will never go to that store again. I don't know how anyone can shop there when everyone who works there is soooooooooooooooooo STUPID!!! I shop only at Slim's Power Tools now. They remember who I am and give me the best price possible even if it is not on sale. more

I'm an older gentleman that knows more about renovations and remodeling than the average individual so I played dumb when it came to interviewing the people that would be putting in my cabinets. Home Depot was less than impressive when it came to their abilities, but Hawaii Woodcrafts gave me the greatest experience through the entire process. Here's what I did. I called them and asked for the person that would be responsible for the project if I were to hire them to remodel my kitchen and replace some of my appliances. Greg [OWNER] gave me the tour of his facility personally. As it turned out they manufacture all of their own cabinets and custom build furniture doors and just about anything you may need in your home. Anyway, Greg became a MY BEST FRIEND. He walked me through the design of the cabinets to the final installation. He took charge and made all of my worries disappear. Greg Molica and his wife Renee took care of me. My cabinets came out better than expected right down to the selection of the brass hanles that I had special ordered. Thank You Hawaii Woodcrafts, My hat comes off to you and your professional staff. We wanted to install some cabinets so we, as most young newly weds do, went shopping for the best deal. After going to a couple big box stores and a few smaller contractors, it was obvious to my wife and I that Hawaii Woodcrafts was the best remodeling company around. It was the difference between MAC and PC. PC are fine but if you are looking for the biggest value for your dollar you wouldn't believe the difference. We saved on the cabinets that would have cost much more from a less established contractor. My family is in the business on the mainland and they helped us make the right decision when it came to choosing the best licensed professional. What I think helped was that they have their own factory producing the cabinets and furniture. I couldn't believe the speed at which they put the entire project together. The owner Greg was hands on and as soon as he saw something slowing up he was on it. 2010 is going to be a great year in our new kitchen. Next we plan to renovate our bathrooms and entry areas. We wanted to update our kitchen but dreaded the prospect of the demolition, down time and reconstruction mess and headache. A major project of this size would make anyone nervous. HWI was excellent to work with from the start. The owner was personally involved at the onset with our design and gave insightful suggestions to make our dream kitchen even more perfect. Being without a kitchen is never a pleasant prospect but HWI kept the down time to a minimum. The finished cabinets and infact the entire kitchen looks like it was torn from the pages of Architectural Digest. We are thrilled with the result and have recommended HWI to several of our friends who are going to do the same project. Thanks again HWI for a dream come true! After spending thousands on African Mahogany cabinets, and late deliveries, we finally received our cabinets, still reeking of the stain. Some of the cabinets were still tacky because they had just finished staining them. THEN we found termites in both Spice racks. They refused to pay any portion of the cost to tent our house. We were out of our home for two nights and the cost of the termite tenting. We had two termite inspectors come in and give their opinion that the termites definitely came with the cabinets since there wasn't evidence anywhere else. We went ahead and did the tenting because who knows if there were any termites in the other cabinets. Hawaii woodcrafts takes your money and then they are done with you. It's bad business. Delays and excuses at every step of way through production! Promised project completion in 2 months, but after 8months, project still not complete and yet another set of excuses and problems with production/orders, administrative, etc...this customer left waiting, stressed frustrated... continue to get promises to call and update, but have to chase the workers and owner for answers... And still waiting after several days to get an answer?!?!? Pros: Nice expensive wood Cons: Unable to meet promises, VERY Slowwwww more
