Best food and Mojitos 9/10/2006

When back on Monday Night for the Happy Hour and Live Music, the Mojitos are $3.00 and $3.50 and Appetizers about half price. We had a group of about 12 people and we sat by the music we ate and drink all night it was the best time I had in a long time with my friends. The Food and drinks were fantastic, we all had a great time, hope to do it again soon!!!!. Must try if you want the best cuban food in town.... Pros: Best on Food and mojitos Cons: Very busy more

Very Hard to find ... one small sign on street .... service good at best 8/23/2006

Took myself and my children there last night ... food was very blan ... I tried the combo plate (Chicken / Pork and a Ham Fried thing) ... All the meat tasted the same ... except the ham fried thing which was not good at all ... My guest had a chicken dish .. my 3 boys (12/11 and 9) had a chicken dish , garlic chicken, and the kids shreaded beef dish. (the kids meals only go up to 10 years of age) (I don't know any 10 year old who eats an full adult meal) . I tried them all ... again blan tasting mush ... the garlic chicken was burned ... the plantains (spelling) were soft and mushy ... the only thing good I can say about the service is the busboy was very good ... My first Mojoto was all water .. the second one was good ... we got no bread like the other tables did ... we had to order fried bannana chips to nibble on waiting for the food ... all of the dishes were filled with onions ... to the point that it was all onions and a few pieces of meat. My dish had two bites of pork and 1/2 a chicken leg ... and again that fried ham thing ... the rest was all onions ... seriously ... the 5 of us got out of there for JUST under $120.00 ... way over priced .. blan food and no service what so ever ... don't waste your time here ... even with the cheap water cocktails .. they are not worth $3.00-$3.50 .... PS my 9 year old asked for a small bowl of beans (which doesn't come with the kids meal) ... an extra $4.00 charge for a bowl that had 3 tablespoons of bean in it ... Pros: Bus Boy was filling glasses right and left Cons: Blan Blaw food over priced for what you get .... more

The mojito happy hour here ROCKS!! Every Monday, happy hour is 4-10pm. There are $3 original mojitos that are the BEST!! The bar staff is attentive, the atmosphere is intimate, and the drinks and food really are the best. Go Cubano for the best Monday night around!! Pros: Best Mojito around, great location, easy parking more

Tried last night for the first time and LOVED it! 2/9/2006

My boyfriend had mentioned he wanted to go out for Cuban food- I found this website and decided to give HM a try. We ate there last night and couldn't be happier. Nice atmosphere- dimmed lighting/intimate even w/ large parties & families around us. We both had Shrimp dishes- he had Arroz con Camarones and I had Saltado de Camarones. Mine had big chunks of onions and bell peppers. I also had a mojito- BEST I've ever had. An appetizer, 2 entrees, soda, and mojito cost $41 (w/out tip). We brought home BIG doggie bags that we'll eat for dinner tonight. In the future we could skip the appitizer and still be very full. The bartender and host were very energetic when we walked in. Our server was quiet and not too full of personality, but she was attentive and helpful with menu selections. I would DEFINITELY go here again! Pros: Food/Taste, Good Value, Parking Cons: Location/View more

Fun and Yummy! 10/24/2005

We went on a Friday night with a bunch of friends.... we had some of the best mojitos ever! The food was delicious! They also had live music which was great. The service and price were worth every penny. The only thing I would suggest is making reservations. Pros: Great prices, awesome mojitos, live music Cons: wait more

Better than Great! 10/22/2005

While on jury duty a couple of years ago, I met a woman who was married to a Cuban man. We talked, and shared our favorite restaurants. Hers was Havanamania. She raved about the food, so I had to see for myself what the hype was all about. From the moment my boyfriend and I took a look at the menu, we fell in love. Not only does Havanamania have great food, but the prices are great, too. If you want to eat good, and not break the bank, Havanamania is the place to go! As for location, I do not think it is ""too damn close to Inglewood and Lawndale."" I think the location is fine; and it really doesn't affect Havanamania's great food and service! Pros: inexpensive, great food, good parking more

Never Let Down 5/28/2005

We found this place in 1998 and have been regulars since. My partner ALWAYS orders the roast pork which is covered in onions and garlic. I enjoy the pork also, but occasionally try a seafood or chicken dish. The black beans are, hands down, the best I've ever tasted. I've turned a lot of friends on to Havana Mania and all have loved it. In terms of atmosphere, this place has come a long way. The food has always been and remains outstanding. (If you like your food more spicy, ask for a dish of the green chili salsa. YUMMY!) From easy parking, to great service, to friendly owners, this place is GREAT. Pros: FOOD, FOOD, Service more

Terrific Authentic & Cuban! 6/13/2004

Luis and Alicia, the owners, make you feel like a member of the family AND a guest! Great prices, and music to boot! Pros: Great value, Easy parking, Casual dining more
