Excellent coffee. I like having a proper size for capuccino, where you can still taste the espresso. They have good breakfast pastries, and good sandwiches for lunch too!

I live in Center City, and was *really* hoping to find a good coffee shop now that Capriccio is no longer in business. I tried this place, and frankly, it is just terrible. I ordered a latte, which can best be described as warm milk. The barista girl was completely rude and completely condescending. The drinks are overpriced and the quality, unfortunately, was not there. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I will have to use Starbucks for my coffee cravings... Best espresso in Philly 5/13/2006

Excellent espresso. V good roast well prepared preheated cups and real spoons. A few months ago the espresso was sometimes a bit too long (but most of the time excellent), but these days it is consistently the exact right amount. You can also get a real capuccino here, in the relatively small cups, not a huge bathtub of milk. Sandwiches are good. Wish they brought back the panettone/colomba. Pros: Excellent espresso. more

this is gotta be the best coffe shop in the city. whatever you get the cofee and other drinks are great. the serivce is always, prompt, friendly and on point. plus they always have good music... more

I just got back from Italy, and found the only place in the United States to sell Hausbrandt coffee. I live in Rittenhouse, and I can't even start tell you how amazing this coffee is --- the best espresso yet. Pros: exquisite espresso, wireless internet, pre-packaged beans more

Excellent espresso -- exactly what an espresso should taste like. Its amazing that this little store isnt more popular. Better coffee than La Colombe --- The environment was even more enjoyable -- no crowds, relaxing, no social hype -- just good coffee, and good people. Pros: great coffee, wireless, not crowded more

Best coffee in the city 6/26/2004

This new Italian-origin coffeeshop is one of Philadelphia's best kept secrets. The coffee is less expensive and better than almost anything else around (mild and dark possibilities) and the decor is simple and relaxing. Good music is always playing, the clientele is cosmopolitan, the service is good, and they really know how to make espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc--the authentic Italian way. Great center city place to meet someone for work, or pleasure. Pros: inexpensive, uncrowded, great coffee more
