The rooms in the older, shorter tower were renovated in 2006 and have rich, jewel toned, sumptous decor. The older tower rooms are smaller & the views are less expansive than in the newer tower, however, the decor in the rooms of the new tower is tired & dated. The new tower rooms have large bathroooms with both shower & tub (very small tub), two sinks, water closet & separate vanity area. \r

The lobby area seems a bit rundown and the cigarette smoke is not adequately ventilated in lobby or casino. \r

The 19 Kitchen Bar (on the 19th floor) is smoke free with great ambiance. It's an excellent place to watch the sun set over Lake Tahoe. The sous chef is fabulous - the sauce on each dish is even better than the one before. Fresh seafood specials - light, ultra fresh California cuisine. Oddly, Cotton Candy is served after dinner. \r

Be sure to check out the men's restroom connected with the 19 Kitchen Bar. A cleverly funny surprise decor. Take a photo to show the females in your party. Apparently, the women's restroom is a typical, no frills affair. Makes it clear who Harvey's caters to. . .
Pros: Nice Views, Excellent Cuisine in 19 Kitchen Bar
Cons: Newer Tower Rooms Need Updating, Casino needs better smoke ventilation
