I bought a home from Hartman Pond by Maronda Homes in April of 2011 and it’s been a nightmare ever since. It seems once you sign your mortgage paperwork, they stop caring about their customers. They have refused to fix any of the issues I’ve had, which caused me to have to spend thousands just to fix the issues caused by their poor construction.
I’ve had electric switches catch fire and spark, the sewer backed up into my house ruining my upstairs bathroom floor, kitchen ceiling and kitchen floor and my entire downstairs flooded after their maintenance worker came in and tightened a joint that was making a groaning noise. He tightened it too much and within a week it burst while I was sleeping. They then refused to pay for the emergency repair or the repairing of my floor and drywall. All upstairs windows that face west were installed incorrectly and the lots are graded poorly, causing fast erosion of my property. This is only touching on the issues I’ve had to correct.
Hartman Pond by Maronda Homes suddenly started building in the Hartman Pond neighborhood after abandoning it in 2011. Unfortunately, most of their houses are not even up to city code with at least 2 that are not 10 feet apart. I’ve contacted zoning about these issues. They throw screws, nails, and other sharp items into the public street. This has caused at least six of the residents to have to repair and/or replace their tires. They also toss these nails and tacks into residents’ yards. Cigarette butts and trash are thrown onto private property as they seem to think the neighboring lots are their own personal trash cans. Hartman Pond by Maronda Homes blocks driveways, mailboxes and sometimes the entire street and have no problem being all over the property of others. I’ve even caught them using my water and hose without permission. Now, they’ve managed to destroy the grass in my side yard that I had to invest hundreds of dollars in just to get growing.
