Harrington House is a well staffed facility for injuries received by older preople and the rehab people are very good at what they do. They bring them back from their injuries with exercises and care. The people are very professional here. The nurses are very good and take care of you. Its clean and they are nice people. They allow me to watch the exercises done with my wife and I learn them to do them when she goes home with her. The staff are very kind people and encouraging. Some patients haveve more needs then others and I can see all the patients needs are met by the staff. Every person that works here is tops in my book. This is the 4th time in 5 years she has needed rehab and I wouldn't go anywhere else. My wife went from being in a w/c to walking thanks to the rehab department. This is the place to be to get back on your feet. more

I recently fell at home and fractured my sacrum. I was transferred to Harrington House for rehab. I stayed approximately three weeks and I am so grateful to all of the staff there for everything they did for me. I was so uncomfortable that I did not want to do anything. Rick from PT encouraged me to participate as best as I could and made it fun to do the work to get me up and going. Kristy from OT worked with me to help me get dressed everyday and exercises to make me stronger. The nursing staff made sure I had everything I needed. Katelyn my nurse was professional and sweet. Up until this I was never in the hospital. I worked full time and took care of myself. I left walking with a walker, two weeks later I no longer need it. I am now back to work full time and owe it all to Harrington House staff. I was glad to go home but sad to leave all the great people I met. If I ever needed assistance again I would go back to Harrington. more

I find sites like these very helpful in finding important information about something you about to embark on. We are looking into long term care for our father who can no longer take care of himself and needs 24/7 care which are family cannot give unfortunately. We were told about Harrington House as a possible place to put him but after reading some on these reviews and there are others out there we can cross Harrington off of our list. Thanks for your posts. Good information.\r more

I totally agree with Marie F. review of Harrington House. My grandmother was a patient at Harrington House and I still to this day recall this incident. My grandmother could not be moved out of bed without help and need to go the bath room. After several attempts to get someone to take her to the bathroom a nurse finally came in and said she'd be right back. More the 30 minutes passed and she couldn't wait hold it any longer. Then we had to wait for them to come in and clean her up. Too many people and not enough help there. This could cause some pain for many patients there as well as families. I was so happy when my grandmother was released from there. She made us promise that we would never again put her in Harrington House and we did promise. Those reviews below ironically were posted the same day right after Marie F wrote such a lengthy and very descriptive review. I know what she went through and I hope her mother is in a better place now. Any place would be better then Harrington House in Walpole, MA\r more

My sister and I had our aunt stay at Harrington House while we were on vacation. We knew she would be well cared for and we would not have to worry. Her stay was as expected. My aunt felt right at home and she felt safe. The nursing team were warm and caring. She bragged about the food, and the facility was always clean and well maintained. This was her 3 or 4th stay there and she would never go anywhere else. I would recommend Harrington House to everyone. It is a wonderful place. more

My Aunt just stayed at Harrington House for a week for respite care. Her stay went well, she was very comfortable. There was a minor problem with her room, they moved her promptly and professionally. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff couldn't have been more helpful with my Aunt. My family would strongly recommend and use Harrington House again. more

My 81 year old mother was sent to Harrington House after a 4 day stay in a hospital. We were told this was a great rehab. Well it isn't. Short staffed and doctors just walk in look at the patients and leave. After three calls to a Dr. Joseph Horan from Foxboro, MA who never returned any of my calls to find out what was going on with my mother my sister and I took matters into our own hands. We started the process of finding another rehab that had a hospital associated with the rehab and Harrington House told us we couldn't do this. That did not stop us one bit. Our mother was declining fast and no one there cared at all. The nursing director informed my sister and I that our mother was failing and they wanted to set up a family meeting to discuss what we and they were going to do. Well, I totally lost it. In the mean time they did an x-ray and blood work which came back with elevated white blood cells and a slight case of Phenomena. WE TOLD THEM SHE WAS LEAVING Harrington House and going to Newton Wellesley Hospital. They did not like being told this but did start the paper work to get her transported to NWH. When she arrived at NWH we found out our mother did not have Phenomena. This just proves what we thought all along that Harrington House doesn't know what the hell they are doing. Dr. Horan should be ashamed to be called a doctor because in our opinion he isn't. \r If offered to go to Harrington Hell Hole Rehab please decline. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there and so I hope people read this review on Harrington House and stay far away from it as possible.\r Our mother is doing better since leaving Harrington Hell Rehab. Please anyone thinking of going there DON'T!!!\r You do not have to settle to find your loved ones a good rehab. Check them out first before you send family members off to a rehabilitation facility. You will be so glad you did. A surprise visit works best. In the South Shore there are three highly qualified rehabs which I will state below for everyone to check out for themselves.\r \r New England Sinai Stoughton, MA \r New Bridge on the Charles Dedham, MA\r Orchard Grove Canton, MA\r \r It's now been 6 days since we've left Harrington and our mother is 100% on the road to recovery no thanks to Harrington and Dr. Joseph Horan of Foxboro, MA.\r I hope people read this post. Because if we had checked rehabs out before all this happened to our mother and family wouldn't have gone through the nightmare we did. more
