Harbor Pointe Apartment

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!! I HAVE lived here for several years. I continue to get screwed over, almost every month by the RUDE, NON-NEGOTIABLE management. They find SOME reason to charge extra fees for RIDICULOUS things, and then they persuade you to clear your balance by resigning your lease. Everyone else is RIGHT they LIE continually. The staff in the office changes every week, so there is NO CONSISTENCY in anything they tell you!! Don't let the LAKE FOOL YOU- it should be condemed as a TOXIC WASTE DUMP and stinks in the summer as they NEVER clean it, which, by law, is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY!!! more

DO NOT MOVE INTO HABOR POINTE APTS!!!!!!!!!! FIRST, THE LEASE AGENT LIED AND SAID THERE WAS 24/7 INTERNET ACCESS. THIS WAS A GREAT FACTOR FOR MY CONSIDERATION ON MOVING HERE BECAUSE I AM A STUDENT. THE NEXT EVENT WAS WHEN SOME RANDOM PERSON WAS KNOCKING ON MY WINDOW AT 7AM AND THEN JUMPED ON TO MY BALCONY AND WAS KNOCKING ON MY BALCONY DOORS. I REPORTED THIS TO LEASING OFFICE AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS A FIRST AND TO CALL THE POLICE. FUNNY THING IS THERE IS A GHOST PATROL SECURITY THAT WORKS WHEN CONVENIENT. NEXT, IN OCTOBER MY HEAT WAS NOT WORKING AND IT WAS ABOUT 50 DEGREES OUTSIDE... I HAD IT FIXED AND WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE HEAT. NOW IT IS LATE NOVEMEBR AND AS THE TEMP DROPS OUTSIDE SO DOES THE ""FREE HEAT."" I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY CLOGGED SINK AND GARBAGE DISPOSAL AND CALLED AT 9AM TO FILE WORK ORDER. CALLING BACK EVERY HOUR DIFFERENT LEASE AGNETS WERE TELLING ME DIFFERENT THINGS AND TOOK MY NUMBER DOWN TO FOLLOW UP WITH INFO... I NEVER RECIEVED A CALL BACK. WHEN I GOT BACK HOME FROM SCHOOL AT 4PM MY SINK WAS STILL CLOGGED. IT TOOK ME SPEAKING TO A ACTUAL TENANT THAT WORKS IN THE OFFICE TO GET THE SITUATION FIXED, BECAUSE THEY KNOW THE BULLSH*T THAT GOES ON AT HARBOR POINTE FIRST HAND. MOST RECENTLY, I HAD A GUEST STAY WITH ME AND WAS NOT AWARE OF PARKING RULES. MY GUEST RENTAL WAS TOWED ON THANKSGIVING BY A PRIVATE COMPANY AND THEY RECIEVED A $40 PARKING TIX. I GUESS IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO TOW A CAR ON THANKSGIVING THAN FIX A TENANTS BROKE DOWN APARTMENT OR TURN ON THE HEAT THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE FREE WHEN IT IS 27 DEGREES OUTSIDE. ALSO, THERE WAS A SERIOUS OF CARS BROKEN INTO IN MY PARKING LOT AND THE AGENTS ACTED AS IF THIS IS ORDINARY AND SOUNDED IRRITATED WHEN I CALLED. I GUESS THE SAFETY AND CARE IS NOT THERE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT STAY IN THE RAGGED APARTMENTS. I AM COUNTING DOWN UNTIL MY LEASE IS OVER BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN THEE WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS PRIOR TO COMMITING TO THIS HELL HOLE. I WILL BE SUBMITTING MY NOTICE MORE THAN THE TWO MONTH ADVANCE REQUIREMENT AND I AM ACTIVELY SEARCHING FOR APARTMENTS. PLEASE READ THIS AND TAKE HEED BEFORE YOU COMMT TO THIS COMPLEX. I have lived here a year and will not re-sign another lease. I will not recommend this complex to anyone as it is going downhill. They are renting to a lot of young kids that I wonder how they can afford an apartment as they are in and out of the apartments all day and half the night with certain smells coming from the apartment. Thay don't seem to work. Lots of parties. Liquor bottles in the hall, not a safe place. Management doesn't seem to care execpt to get apartments rented. more

I've lived at Harbor Pointe for almost 6 years now, and it makes me sad to see people say how bad it is on the internet. I live in the area that had the b u g issue - in my experience the staff has been more than helpful with my inquiries and straightforward in explaining the situation - yes, a few of us are having to deal with a problem caused by previous tenants, but the staff was very quick to act when the problem surfaced - yes the treatments take awhile, but they're taking great care in order to solve the issue for good, and have been nothing but apologetic, helpful, and patient with me while I was, admittedly, quite angry when I found out. They took responsibility for the integrity of their apartments, and have moved quickly to resolve the issue. That means a lot to me, and is much more than I got at other places I've lived at.\r \r Other than that, I've loved my time spent here and my apartment. I've never had any issues with neighbors, and the apartments are clean, cozy, and very quiet. Rents are, in my estimation, extremely affordable. The maintenance staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The office staff is friendly and upbeat whenever I call, and I'm always greeted with a smile whenever I visit the clubhouse to work out. I've made many friends while living here, and even met my wife here 2 years ago! It just makes me upset to see people write on the internet and not give a fair review, because as far as I'm concerned, this community is a great place to live and has employees who actually care...and it's close to everything! I've been here for a long time, and I plan to be here for years to come. Pros: Clean & Spacious. Friendly staff. Very quiet. Cons: Parking is sometimes tough if you get back very late! more

I moved in about two months ago and within the first few weeks I got a notice on my door saying that they were spraying for those nasty insect beetles(it's not letting me write the actual name in this review, but they're relatively big, they bite, and multiply like crazy)! I hadn't seen any so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were taking care of an old problem. Also, I noticed that I was getting what I thought were hives the entire time that I lived there, and I thought it could have been because I was stressed/ uncomfortable because the area around the complex is nasty, I got harassed while I was running around the lake all the time by the trashy people in that area. But it turns out I wasn't getting hives, I went and talked to management about getting out of my lease and they told me that I have bed insects (again not letting me write that 3letter b word) in my aparment!! They said they went in and tested and are going to treat it next week, well guess what they also didn't give me notice that they were going in to test for it and they expect me to live there while they're doing this FOUR month treatment! These people are complete idiots and the apartments are nasty, I suggest going far far elsewhere!! Pros: Nice lake view apartments Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more

The staff is rude and will tell you anything to get you to sign a lease. We were new to the area and thought this place was nice, it's not don't be fooled. The people we live here are rude and their kids are always outside throwing things at other people's windows and swearing and being really rude. there is no security here these people do not care either I am glad I only signed a 6 month lease and we are getting out of here soon. This has been the worst place I have ever lived and I would not want anyone to make the same mistake that I did. Please look for a better place to live more

This complex is unsafe and dangerous. The rental agents will tell you anything to sign up -- how clean and safe the place it. Not. The whole area is a mess. more
