Excellent atmosphere. When you walk into this family run bar you feel like you're on an episode of Cheers. Excellent selection of beers. They also offer snacks to those of us who misjudge our ability to consume that last beer. Although the bar tenders will skip your song on the jukebox if they dislike it :) Mostly for the middle aged crowd even though it gets its fair share of college business. Pros: darts, jukebox, excellent service, patio Cons: tiny! more

Hap's is a Great Place To Find The True Irish 3/14/2009

I have been going to Hap's Irish Pub since the 1970's Anyway it's a blast to celebrate Saint Patricks Day at a place that's true to Ireland. The Drinks are awesome don't do what I did one year I asked for a German Beer and the entire Bar went silent... But I do love Guinness and Killians Red Beers cannot drink more than one. Get your spray tan from Gidget before Monday so tuesday you'll be ready to visit the Irish Pubs... its fantastic how many old friends you'll find at Hap's Pros: Best place to celebrate Saint Patricks Day Cons: Parking kinda tough more

Best Irish bar in Cincinnati{Football too} 9/14/2007

I can't believe these two Scots think the prices are too high, if they had a decent living they think they'd had a raise. Joe, the barman, is a national treasure, and maintains an eternal state of grace. The Guiness and the whiskey{piss on Bushmill's} is poured correct, which ought to be enough. There's nancyboy Thai,Frog , and Hindu on the block, but if that's your style we'd prefer you get bent. Be well, and you'll never walk alone. Great Pub Feel 11/21/2006

This is a good place to relax and have a few drinks in what feels like an authentic irish pub setting, although it can get a bit crowded. The crowd is a bit older, but everyone's friendly. They only take cash so remember to stop by the ATM before stopping in! Pros: Great place to have low-key drinks, good jukebox Cons: Drinks can be pricey, bar area gets very crowded more

True Irish Pub 12/13/2002

Having been to numerous "Irish" pubs abroad and in the states, I would have to say Haps really feels like a true Irish Pub. Drinks can be a bit pricey, but the atmosphere is chill and folks are laid back. The Guiness is excellent. Pros: Atmosphere, Drinks Cons: Price more

    Founder Gordon Thomas opened Hap's in 1975, inspired by the pubs he visited on a trip to Ireland. His son, Danny, carries on the family tradition with this pub that wears its authenticity on its boiled-wool sleeve. Patrons will find the requisite map of the Auld Sod at the bar, and even a photo of the Pope. Besides traditional Irish dishes on the menu, European sports are also on view.
