I was visiting my son for lunch, who lives in Santa Ana and my car needed a wash so decided to try Happy Hands, because it was close by. At first, I was pleased by the low price of $8.99 for a wash, then shortly realized....you get what you pay for! My car sat at the vacuum station for 35 minutes (no lie). Oh, this was the amount of time it sat there before it was even vacuumed. During that time, FIVE vehicles pulled up and then pulled away because no one was coming over to offer them service. There was only one guy working in this section and most of the time he wasn't even in the vacuum area, I didn't see him actually doing a whole lot of vacuuming. At one point, I saw him dragging an empty trash barrel across the parking lot. The cars were piling up and no one was taking them through to the next area, ""the wash"". There were only 2 or 3 cars at a time in the ""wipe down"" area and as these cars were finished, I guess it was break-time for each of the workers. Instead of moving onto the next car, they were snacking under the awning in the vacuum area. Wishful thinking that they were actually going over there to help! God forbid! Finally my car was vacuumed and then disappeared around the corner. When I never saw my car come out the other end of the wash, (I waited another 20 more minutes) before going to see what was taking so long. The manager happened to be sitting in the office and when I told him that I had already waited a total of 55 minutes for my car...he responded ""oh! Your car is next"". Really? How exciting!! He then asked me what kind of car I drove! oh hello...I thought you said MY car was next?? I told him this was unacceptable and wanted my money back, but more importantly, I needed my car back. He said he would go check on my car. He left and never came back. I saw him over in the detail section talking to one of his employees. I asked the ""vacuum guy"" if he could go get my car and he did a very bad job of pretending he couldn't hear me. Finally one employee walked over to me and apologized! I will give him 5 stars for that, but sorry Happy Hands....you are lucky you got the one star from me! He honestly did want to help but at this point it was too late. My one hour lunch was completely over and I had to drop my son and get back to work. I was told that I could not have my money back because my car had just been washed. I got in my car as it was pulled out of the wash area. I will never go back to Happy Hands and recommend that the manager gets some sort of Management Skills Training.
