I've had Chinese food all over the country, especially the tri-state area, and even though this isn't the best, it is GOOD food.
The original owners (that opened the place in the early 90's) knew what they were doing and the place was great. When the new owners took over (around 2007), they didn't do a very good job at first. Since then, they have massively improved on what was mediocre and have turned it into very decent dining.
I do not recommend going during non-peak hours though. They try to save money by putting out minimum portions, which end up getting nuked under the lights, dried out and totally undesirable.
I can understand trying to cut back costs, but is still annoying. Almost all places do it.
However, they will make you fresh everything, if you ask. SItting there pouting, expecting them to read your mind, will get you squat.
They are nice people and try to accommodate all of their guests and if you are a regular, they remember your favorites and make sure there is plenty on the buffet or they make it just as you like it, for take out.
Just to be cheeky...
I always feed this to my dogs. They practically mow me down to get it when I bring some home. I've never seen them go crazy for any other food, like they do for Happy Garden.
Now, if only Harrison had a SUSHI place!! :)
Pros: Fast service, same staff, take out is always made to order.
Cons: Buffet is only fresh at peak hours, 12-3pm and 5-7pm.
