Happy Dragon Thrift Shop

The Dragon has lost its Happy!\r Shopped here regularly for more years then I care to remember- always hit or miss yet sadly the hits are all but forgotten as I fear the Dragon has become nothing more than a sponsored trash bin. Anything worth a second look is over priced. It’s been said repeatedly by other customers that the best donations are snatched up in the back room with no chance of hitting the racks for sale. \r \r Worse, the customer service personnel are just as old and tired as the merchandise displayed-with the exception of a few. If you are lucky you might find one wearing a yellow apron, very pleasant and helpful, but their tenure is brief and they are soon gone I have observed too often that the volunteers that run the place are a bunch of intolerant crotchety old women that take their position and themselves way too seriously. I'm a dedicated thriftstore shopper and have been for the last 30 years. About 3 years ago, I was directed to the Happy Dragon by an antiques dealer in Los Gatos who suggested that I might find what I was looking for at HD if it was not in her store. I don't remember exactly what I was hunting for, but I found a terrific place to shop for clothes, linens, and that weird but special gift that just can't be found anywhere else. Now, I have to admit, I liked it so well, I became a volunteer. But I could still be one of their most dedicated shoppers. 100% of profits go to support EMQ, a non-profit which provides services to kids in crisis and to their families. more

This thrift store's profits go to disabled children's programs, so all the more reason to spend. I've gotten some beautiful clothes, houseware and children's clothes. Cons: Parking - watch out not to get parking tickets more
